Hey 29palms. I'm in the same unique program you are. I haven't transferred anything to TESC yet as I am just getting started on this. I am Air Force Reserves and have had my A&P since 1991. I just finished mapping out what CLEPS I am going to take to get the BSAST Aviation Maintenance Technology Degree. I know with the CCAF degree it is the same, however, all I need to finish up is the general education courses. Let me know what and how they offer your existing credits. I just started on the FEMA courses and studying the Sociology CLEP. I would like to have this degree finished up by the end of spring. I am working in the Aerospace industry and have been for the last 15 or so years.

Good Luck!

29Palms, Looks like you have 17 FEMA credits, everything except the 100 level courses should count...free electives at least, though I don't think you need them.
MBA, Western Governors University February 2014
BS Charter Oak State College November 2011
AS in EMS August 2010

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

Yes, you are probably right in that I don't need them. However, not bad to know that I got some double reinforced credits kickin around JUST IN CASE! I figure in about a week or two, I will apply, I think they should have all my credits by now, but I need to make a copy of my A&P license and get it notarized and submitted to Tesc too, just been dealing with other issues right now, kind of lazy mode too. Darned graveyard shift and darned Texas heat is kicking my rear end. Once I get my official response from Tesc, gonna do that Aleks thing, but gotta make sure I need those classes first. Thanks for your help and responses. I'll be here.

Hey jetmech68, good to hear from you and maybe we can share some info being we are in the same kind of boat.
Yes, REBEL100 here on this forum has been an excellent source of information here and has provided me with some super insight to TESC and what I possibly could need. I did send from all my sources to send transcripts to TESC to see where I possibly stand. From what it looks like, I could only need a few courses, of which mostly can be done via Aleks/straigherline. Upon finishing those, I understand I may have to take a course or two via TESC as I enroll, and that is where the big bucks come into play. It does seem to me that since Aviation Maintenance played a big part into what I can get inasfar as a Bachelors, the BSAST in Aviation Maintenance Technology, it only makes sense to follow this path to get the maximum credits I have accrued thus far allocated into this degree. Why go for another degree like in buisness or anything else where my aviation or FAA credits would not count right? So I'll need to get off my duff, submit TESC my FAA license copy with notarization, and application. I was kind of buying some time for all my schools to send in the transcripts. I had to send them from 6 different locations. I was just giving them time to all get sent in, then I'll apply. I was told that they would begin a folder on me so, I figure maybe next week I'll apply. I should call them too to make sure they got everything. When I get that information, I will post them right here for all to see. Yea, keep in touch.

Incidentally, I did notice your WESTERN NEW MEXICO UNIVERSITY education in progress. Is this the same system as ENMU-R? Are they the same school affiliation?

Also, I am curious to know if you had a previous associates degree that adds to your faa license. I don't know how tesc will score my transcripts but I'm hoping they count my faa license at the lower level, and somehow count my associates courses in the upper level even though they are not upper level courses. Don't quite know how this will pan out, but I feel its worth the 80 bucks to find out. I know its a unique program and a unique situation, and definately a unique degree, and if anything, I know that kind of bachelors has not been around very long. I don't know what kind of general education courses you are finishing up, but I got alot of that general education courses done a long time ago.

State school just like ENMU. I actually looked at ENMU they have the same fantastic deal on tuition. Their MBA just had too many pre-reqs for my non business major BS. WNMU doesnt have the MBA online that I wanted...but I was working on a MA that included Writing and Criminal Justice. I am putting that on indefinite hold though. I am set to begin Western Governors in their MBA on September 1. (though , in truth, I an not 100% sure I will be doing it) Kinda playing around with the self paced coursework right now and guaging how quickly I could finish.

I like New Mexico. It's cheap there, love the adobe homes and great weather, nice mountains. Great casinos there too. I didn't physically attend ENMU-R, but took one course from them for the AAS degree. I had a bit of a problem with getting my degree certificate. They gave me transcripts but no certificate, when I finally was adviced from someone on degreeinfo.com to write to the president of the school. That got me results right away, and they mailed me a certificate. Nice school, great tuition and degree plans, but lousy staff.
