Excelsior 113 vs 105 transfer credit clarification?

Hey everyone,

I am planning to apply to Excelsior University for the BS in Business with no concentration, but I have found some conflicting information online and was hoping someone here who has gone through the process recently could clarify it.

From what I have read, Excelsior may allow students to transfer up to 113 credits toward the degree. However, I have also seen that students enrolled through a partnership program are required to complete at least 15 credits directly through Excelsior.

My understanding is that a partnership student would be someone receiving a tuition discount or other benefit through one of Excelsior's partners, such as Sophia Learning, Study.com, or another partner organization.

Most of my transfer credits are coming from Sophia Learning and Study.com, but my goal is to transfer in 113 credits and complete only the 7 credits that must be taken directly through Excelsior.

If I apply directly to Excelsior and do not enroll under or use any partnership tuition discount, would I be able to transfer up to 113 credits and only complete these 7 credits at Excelsior?

INL 102 – Information Literacy: 1 credit
IND 101 – Cornerstone A: Foundations: 3 credits
BUS 499 – Strategic Management Capstone: 3 credits

In other words, does simply transferring Sophia and Study.com credits make me a "partnership student," or would the 15-credit residency requirement only apply if I actually enroll through a partnership agreement or receive the partnership tuition rate?

Does my understanding make sense? I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has done this recently or knows how Excelsior currently handles it.
