Future NCCRS course provider
#1
Information
Consortium for International Studies

No idea on costs or course format yet since their site is still under construction. Their courses just gained NCCRS approval in SEP/AUG 2018. They do appear to be self paced and distance. Just thought I'd drop this off as something to look into in the future....

They're using mytestcom.net for content delivery, the same service Torah CC/TorCC/Tor Academy/Davar Academy has used throughout its name changes.

It's going to be hilarious if this is just Davar changing their name for the hundredth time.

(I don't actually think this is what is happening, I'm just joking about the observation that they all use mytestcom)

If they are charging what Davar is charging for their business courses ($99/2 course exams + proctor fees), it's a pretty good deal for these, Davar doesn't charge monthly membership, but require you "complete" the two exams in one month. They don't come close to as cheap as OD.com and I think all these courses are currently offered elsewhere for about the same amount in cost.

I think though that the people who have used Davar have been very happy with their exams, and felt well-prepared with the materials Davar provides, whereas OD is getting mixed reviews about format.

Cost aside, what I mean is that we could use some more diversity in the courses offered.

I agree wholeheartedly. I understand that they(most of the course providers) are providing the majority of the gen eds that most people need but I would like to see more offerings in the STEM field beyond the basics.

That's always been my complaint about new providers - the same old courses.  Not a single course they have is not offered elsewhere.  Unless they are free, or very low cost, there's no reason to use them.

Yes, except that if the courses are offered literally everywhere, then you are chasing the same dollars as everyone else.  You have to offer a course or two or three that are harder to find, but still necessary to a lot of people.
