Does anyone know how getting a second bachelor's degree in a totally different field works? Let's say I have a bachelor's in english (I almost do), and I want to go into, say, graphic design or something else (this is a somewhat vague thought for the future). What will I have to do? Keep in mind that I have almost finished my english degree at tesc, and I have been at a B&M school, so I know how college and online college works in general, I just don't know what I would need to do for a second degree.
Also, does anyone have any good ideas for what to do with an english degree? I was thinking of perhaps trying to go into technical writing, but I am not so sure if this is an easy field to get started in. What kinds of (preferably short) grad school program can you get into with just an english degree that can get you a good job? Which kinds can you get stipends for?

But I just enrolled in a second BA at TESC. If you check one of my recent post I posted a copy of the e-mail I received. The main point is as of now you need 30 new credits after July 1st it will be 24 new credits, but they will need to be 300-400 level.

I don't really see the point in a second Bachelor's. Why not just go to a grad degree? Grad school, especially funded programs usually require lots of research, that's why they are willing to fund you. Non funded programs include things like law school, which may be of interest to an English major.
Provided you meet the prereqs having an English degree doesn't keep you from pursuing anything you are interested in at the grad level.

Hi Doghouse,
Congratulations on acheiving your degree!
There are two short answers I can think of in reply to your question regarding what your qualification is good for:
Firstly, what type of job and/or career are you interested in? It might be worth thinking more about what sort of activities you find satisfying on a day-to-day basis, rather than the job title. In my experience, the type of people you work with also makes a difference. For sure, there may be some careers which require you to gain some experience first and work toward particular roles, but as a graduate you have already paid some dues
Secondly, what types of jobs and/or careers is your degree not suited for? If you are interested in something with specific prerequisites, for example professional qualifications, then grad school or passing those particular exams is your next step.
Worse case scenario, get a list of recommended graduate employers. In the UK, the Times publishes an annual 'Top 100 Graduate Employers'. Get an equivalent copy for your location and while you are thinking about (enjoying) your situation, fire off a CV and covering letter to every company and organisation on that list.
Good luck!

I want to graduate in december so I can start my masters in the spring. I'll have to be done by october 1st to graduate so I'll have a few months with nothing to do and I thought it might be worth it to take 8 business exams for a second degree.
