Saylor BUS402: Project Management
#1
Has anyone taken the Saylor "BUS402: Project Management" course? It maps to a course I need to take at Purdue Global called "IT301: Project Management I" and I'm wondering if it's worth the time and effort to complete it and transfer in. The Saylor course length (62 hours) seems intimidating. There is no equivalent at Sophia or SDC accepted by Purdue Global.

Thanks!
Mark

I haven't taken it, but 62 hours is just an estimate. It may take you longer or shorter, depending on things like how much experience you have and how fast you read.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)

Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

The other option is doing CompTIA Project+.

As far as which is easier between Salyor or Project+ that I don't know.

I know with CompTIA Project+, people have done this within 2 weeks though the cost for the exam is $300+

I took some of the quizzes on project management at Salyor and scored high just using common sense.  It didn't seem too hard though Saylor courses are typically harder than Sophia, SL, Study.com, and CLEP.

I would suggest taking the practice final exam right away and seeing what you score on it.  Then make some notes on what you need to learn.  If you can score around 50% zero studying, then the course should be fairly easy.  Remember you can fail the final exam and keep retaking it for a low cost in case you fail by just a few questions.
Degrees: BA Computer Science, BS Business Administration with a concentration in CIS, AS Natural Science & Math, TESU. 4.0 GPA 2022.
Course Experience:  CLEP, Instantcert, Sophia.org, Study.com, Straighterline.com, Onlinedegree.org, Saylor.org, Csmlearn.com, and TEL Learning.
Certifications: W3Schools PHP, Google IT Support, Google Digital Marketing, Google Project Management

I don't know anything about the Saylor course, but to piggyback on LevelUP's comment, you can cut the Project+ exam cost to less than half ($163 vs $338) with an academic discount (which, unless things have changed, just requires you to have an active .edu email address).

It took me 2 weeks to complete and I used a PluralSight course and the below book (both resources were free for me through WGU, so this didn't factor into my cost). It was an easy pass but not exciting subject matter.
