Has anyone recieved a MBA PM from Aspen
#1
Just wondering if anyone has gotten their MBA Project Management from Aspen University. I see that they give credit for the PMP certification and their tuition is very reasonable. I also noted they they are a certified PMI education provider.

Just wondering if anyone has gotten this degree and how is it looked upon in the industry.

thanks

I've looked at doing a Masters in Project Mgmt from Aspen for exactly the same reason; very low tuition, plus, as a registered PMP, I would already get credit for three of the core classes.

What's stopping me -- besides the fact that my bachelor's isnt quite done?

Two things:

First, the cost of the program is sooo low compared to even the other programs out there that either they have cracked the code on how to provide a quality educational expereince with very low internal costs OR it is to good to be true.

Second, and this is to your point, in the world where I live (IT Program Director, Government Contractor), while a MS from Aspen will qualify you for labor category, getting the senior VP who graduated from (Air Force Academy, Georgetown, Penn State, etc), to look favorably on that degree with any amount of confidence and give you the job, is questionable.

The third of my two points is this, I might actually need to learn the materials and if they are just greasing the degree mill, then the quality of what I might actually learn is in question.

I was interested in Aspen but they no longer have the low pay up front tuition. I believe it was $4500. There are some folks over at degreediscussion.com who are enrolled at Aspen that could probably give you some info.

I'm not sure if this is still good but you might give it a try. It says less than $6,000.00. I assume that means $5,999.99.

Just wanted to mention that Aspen University is DETC accredited, but not regionally accredited. That's probably why it is comparatively inexpensive.

Perhaps, but there are some NA schools with higher costs than RA schools too.
