Please help with degree plan
#1
Hi everyone! I'm working on a degree from Excelsior, and my friend has asked me for help with getting a bachelor's degree.
Friend already has an Associate in Science and Associate in Applied Science. He wants a Bachelor's from one of the Big 3; doesn't care which one. Wants to pursue MBA or Project management masters later. Something in technology/business would be great, but honestly he wants the fastest bachelor's degree he can get, with the least amount of classes (especially upper level). He wants to take few to no online classes from the actual school (except for capstone if required) & strongly prefers Clep, DSST, straighterline, study.com, Uexcel, tecep, etc.

I've looked at so many degree plans and the degree forum wiki, but still can't figure out which would be the fastest. I'm thinking TESU BA liberal arts? Any help would be appreciated so, so much!
I will list his credits below. Thanks!

Are you done with your Excelsior courses? Do you need help yourself? I would suggest getting a quick run down for yourself as well.
Most of the people here are more familiar with TESU. COSC and Excelsior are a bit different for their requirements. If he's still at
Excelsior, get him to do an evaluation and then post the info here, in this thread. We can find out what's missing and advise then...

Hi! Thanks, I don't need any help right now for myself.. I'm not done at Excelsior, but only have 8 classes/exams left.. I already know which ones I need; the forum has been very helpful in figuring it out so far Smile
My friend hasn't attended Excelsior. He doesn't really have the funds to apply at all 3 schools just so see what they will say.. that's why I was trying to help him figure out what he could finish the most easily.

Unless he wants to go to a bottom of the barrel school, MBA programs usually have prerequisites. If he goes for a non-business degree, he should make sure that the typical prerequisites are covered.

Hi sanantone, thanks for mentioning that and I will definitely make sure he checks the prerequisites! I checked Patten and WGU (because I've seen those mentioned here a lot) and he seems to meet the applicant requirements for their MBA programs if he gets a bachelor's degree.

::Just watching this post to learn about Excelsior::

Does anybody else love this forum more and more every day because of all the terrible rumors about Federal Student Loan policies under the current administration?

I can't compare colleges, since I only know TESU well. But in looking at TESU, I think the quickest/easiest thing would be to get the BALS. The only courses needed are the American Government course, and then 5 UL courses in just about anything that's non-business - and the easiest way to get those would be:

Insurance Ethics (free Ethics course) - 2cr >> PHI-384
TEEX Cybersecurity for Business Professionals - 2cr >> CIS-344

Saylor ($25 each)
BUS303: Strategic Information Technology >> CIS-301
CS301: Software Engineering >> CIS-351
Managerial Comm >> MAN-373
Microbiology >> BIO-351

Shmoop ($85/mo, unlimited courses)
Holocaust Literature >> LIT-301
Literature in the Media >> LIT-430
Modernist Literature >> LIT-399
Shakespeare's Plays >> LIT-320
Women's Literature >> LIT-323

Org Behavior >> PSY-361 - DSST, Study.com, SL

Management Info Systems >> CIS-301 - DSST, Ed4Credit

TECEP's
Managerial Comm
Marketing Comm
Abnormal PSych

Business Comm - SL, Study.com

Study.com
Microbiology
Pathophysiology
HIS 308: Causes & Effects of the Vietnam War
