I believe TESC is going to be the one for me!
#1
It's done, I believe I have made my decision...they have any degree that I would want to do! I could get, Biology, Environmental, Natural Science, etc..I could even build my own Natural Science/MAth one from scratch! I don't think I will have too much financial aid like if I went with EC, but that is okay I feel good about this! I am going to apply right after the wedding (2 weeks).

Now can anyone tell me where I can find a list of the courses that they offer?? I can't find them anywhere? THANKS!

Thank you for the link!

Oh man, they barely offer any Science courses! Arghh...I hope they allow me to take courses somewhere else and still let me receive financial aid! Seems I would have to take alot of classes elsewhere.

Hmm just when I think I have it all figured out. I need some help...does anyone know of anyone on here that earned or is earning some sort of science degree from one of the Big 3?

TESC does have a deal that you can get financial aid through them to use at other schools. Check out the Financial Aid Consortium Agreement.

YAY that is great, but do you know if you have to take at least one class per semester through TESC? Or can I take the required 6 credits for financial aid somewhere else?

This is getting exciting!!

Ok, you won't need science classes-or any other classes- for an AA in Social Science. They have EVERYTHING you need offered or available through CLEP/DSST. If you choose to take a science class somewhere else, you can transfer it into your program, but it will not be covered through financial aid.

I took a variety of classes/CLEPs/Dsst exams. Simply organize your schedule so that you pick 6 credits for each of your 4 enrolled semesters, and fill in the rest with exams, local classes, or more TESC classes.

Thanks Cooks, but I meant more like Bio, chem, or Nat Sciences.

I don't understand why I would need to take 6 credits at TESC each semester! They don't offer many classes I would need or want to take. I can't go full time because I have way too much going on. I want to take environmental conservation/law classes and GIS, stuff I WANT and will NEED to learn to enter the field I want. I already have 60 credits from my CC, so I won't need to take many electives, general ed, etc classes. I feel I would be throwing money away if I did this. I would be paying for enrollment, but still would need to take classes elsewhere, and still be required to take 6 credits at TESC? Seems not worth it to me now! SO confused now.

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO EARN A SCIENCE DEGREE? I do want my degree fast, but I don't want to do like a liberal arts where I am just taking classes and electives that mean nothing to me just to get a degee, I want to actully learn something!

I totally agree with you Cinderly. I am thinking just getting a broad degree, and take classes I want here and there. I think at this point maybe Empire State would be better for me. They offer many more classes that I would like and would need. But if not, I will earn a broad degree and later on then maybe go for the Masters at OSU. Although, I have been through heck with OSU since I started a class there this semester, they kind have left a soar spot in my stomach. They lied to me numerous times regarding financial aid, but there streaming live classes kick butt!

I hate being a good researcher before I make a decision, it drives me nuts, HAHA!
