Dear forum members:
I need to vent.
I had scheduled to take Am. Lit today at the testing center I have been using for the last few months. I had to wait a few minutes, the system was slow and it was a specially busy day.
I get to start my test and after the 3rd. question it starts to show the dreaded hourglass asking me to wait, by the 8th question it just blew, the screen went blank after flashing an scary "Servers Down" message.
All of us taking Cleps were sent to wait in the reception room, we waited.
By now I had been there almost three hours and my nerves were failing.
Finally, the administrator offered to come on Sat. morning and let us finish what we started.
I am terrified that this will be considered a failed exam.
She promised that will not be the case and she got on the phone with College Board right away.
Is there anything I should do on my part?
It seems that the testing center servers were the culprits.
I am a little frazzled right now.
Sorry for the long diatribe.

I don't know if your read my thread, but this happened to two others (myself included) yesterday! I don't know what's worse, having a crash or having to rev up to take it again! It really is upsetting.

I am so sorry this happened to you! I can only imagine how you must have felt. I know how I felt when I studied all day the day before my exams and was waiting and waiting for the proctor to show up, seeing signs on the door that the student resource center was closed due to construction, and then he finally shows up 20 minutes LATE. Then being put into an ice cold room to take the DANTES written version when I have never had experience with DANTES in the first place. My nerves were already shot thinking that I would not even be able to find the testing center as it was over an hour away for me. It is frustrating and nerve-wracking to say the least. Then to have to WAIT for my test results on top of it is killing me. The rest of the weekend I basically hibernated away from everyone and did nothing but watch TV, which is not like me at all.
You have my sympathies. There should be a law against these things for us poor students who work so hard and are put through the ringer to boot!

I empathize with you all. On the day that I was supposed to take my next to the last test, Social Psychology, it rained 4 inches in a couple of hours! I left an easy 30 minutes earlier than I had to. As I was driving to a foreign testing center (my normal Pearson Vue center was all booked up AGAIN) I had to wait on the highway for 45 minutes. Luckily, I had the directions with the testing center phone number. I called them at the time I was supposed to be there (30 minutes early from my scheduled test time). They told me that as long as I was there no later then 30 minutes past my scheduled time to begin my test that they could still seat me. After sitting in traffic I had to exit the highway into an area I was unfamiliar with. I immediately called my husband for directions but he was also unsure of the way. I ended up going the WRONG way! I got turned around and headed off again. I got to the center with 10 minutes to spare before they gave my seat away. I somehow managed to pass with a B and I'm really grateful. That night on the news I saw the highway and the reason that we all had to exit: cars were floating where the highway had flooded. A few minutes earlier and that could have been me!

Dear Board Members:
I am glad to say that I took American Literature today and passed with a 64!
That was after being told that the servers were down again!
As I stepped outside I called my husband and said a prayer.
When I returned I was all set to go.
This may be my last Clep as I start the DSST and Excelsior journey now!
Thanks for all your support!
