i'm getting ready to take my first test too. Sociology! From what I hear it seems to be the easiest one! I gotta wait till the center opens back from the holidays to take it.!! I got the Ic flashcards down. I read an rea book, and took the peterson test. ???? Hopefully we will pass. if you type in the sociology in the search bar, they posted some links to some great sites!!! Someone said the ic flashcards were enough. also on sparknotes they have some sociology info.

I passed the Soc. CLEP with a score of 66 using only IC and taking the Peterson's practice tests. If you do those two things and are doing well, you should be fine. Good luck!

Before the exam, take a few deep breathes. It will help to calm you downa a bit. Remember, each question is worth 1 point so try getting the esay ones first and then pick at your brain for the more challenging ones. Good Luck!

I passed SOC today with a 67 Smile . Combination of IC, Intro to Soc book, and Petersons. Knowing the players, their theorys, and especially the vocabulary of sociology really helps narrow down the choices to eliminate the wrong answers.

It was my first time CLEP testing and I found the test challenging, but with good study preparation and the advice from folks on this forum, I felt well prepared.

Good Luck

I am taking the Intro to Sociology test next week. I have went through all of the flashcards and am in the process of memorizing them. Does anyone think that if I know the information well that this will be sufficient for a passing grade?

I passed the Soc test today with a 67, but would not have passed just strictly on the IC (although they help immensely). There were a lot of interpretive questions as opposed to just rote memorization, and for that, skimming through a text book and bearing down on the vocabulary / glossary really really helped me.

Also, check out the links under specific-exam-feedback to see some of the topic areas that have been covered on other tests. Mine was very similar in nature to the notes posted to this thread. I used EC, one shot at Petersons, and my SOC100 book from Strayer.
