Six-week classes
#11

If given the choice, I'd rather take a class with a 14- or 16-week format, because it gives me more flexibility in choosing classes, a better opportunity to digest new material, and a chance to work ahead instead of always submitting assignments right before the deadline - especially if team projects are involved.

While I strongly disliked 6-week classes (even for an otherwise easy class, it's too much work in too short a time, giving you no slack time on assignments), 8-week classes can work nicely for nontechnical topics.

First of all, I love Super Mario Bros.
I have taken classes that were as short as 21 days. It's really a matter of personal preference and time. I completed a lab science on a 5 week schedule once that was pretty torturous. However, I *teach on a 16 week semester, and somewhere around week 12 I'm ready to jump off a bridge. 16 is too long for me.

Thanks for sharing your insight here. I enjoyed seeing a variety of opinions on this subject.

Cookderosa: I'm not sure where I mentioned Super Mario Bros., though, unless you've been clicking on my profile links. Either way, I am indeed a Mario fan!
Course clear! You got a card.
