My son needs a self paced business math course. Something ACE approved or RA will fit the bill. I was on the verge of hitting the payment button on Pen Foster's site when I decided to check the ACE website. Unfortunately that course ran out of it's ACE approval last month. That is too bad because I was very excited about the course. It would have worked perfectly to squeeze the work in between the 12 days break he will have at NMJC.
Any suggestions?

There have been some issues with Penn Foster and ACE guide updates in the last few months. It may be worth a call to ACE to check the status of this course.

Thanks for the suggestion, John. I'm thinking that over $600 for the course is a bit steep for my budget.
Maybe something a little more cost effective?

Sorry, but given the stated preferences of "Business Math" and "self-paced", this was the best I could find. Could he take a different math like College Algebra? If so, that opens up more possibilities.

It was my fault for not being more specific.
He is going to complete the ALEKS beginning, intermmediate and college algebra courses sometime before the summer break is over. Business math is a high school requirement that he is trying to fulfill before next fall. Thankfully they are allowing us to knock out high school requirements with college courses. Double score!

I emailed ACE this morning to see if the course is ACE reviewed. Penn Foster claims that it is reviewed but that ACE hasn't updated their site yet.

ACE confirmed today that the Business Math course from Penn Foster is currently approved and ready to go.
The website is inaccurate.

Glad to hear it. If that doesn't work out, since this is for high school he could also take these course through BYU Independent Study:
BMATH 041: Business and Consumer Math, Part 1 (Online) - BYU Independent Study - Online Courses
BMATH 043: Business and Consumer Math, Part 2 (Online) - BYU Independent Study - Online Courses
Cost is $132 each.

John, I'd rather he do a course that also gives him the opportunity to earn some college credits.

Any input would be appreciated.
