Amity University Noida
44,000 INR per semester, which is approximately $552 USD
I'm getting different prices here: https://www.amity.edu/phd/fee.aspx
But overall, a full-time 3-year PhD (6 semesters, 2 per year) from Amity would come out to $5,649 USD which is dirt cheap. That's even cheaper than UCN which is about $8,900 (at least for their Psychology program anyway), and since Amity is already regionally accredited by WASC I'd imagine there would be no concerns with foreign credential evaluations. But maybe the more impressive part is that Amity's prices for their PhD programs have remained the same since at least 2016.
However, I don't know their policy on accepting students with online degrees from schools not located in India, and as I understood it in the past, there was a regulation that prohibited accepting those students, but I also had conversations with Assam Don Bosco University and they had no issues with accepting students with online degrees, I even asked about it directly and they said they don't follow that, so who knows. I'm also not sure all of these programs are offered online entirely or in part, because one section talks about mandatory residencies: https://www.amity.edu/phd/points.aspx
You'll also need an evaluation from the AIU, it's mandatory for foreign students: https://www.amity.edu/phd/procedure.aspx
So I'd look deeper into this one, ladies and gentlemen. But the price sure is attractive.

I got the pricing information from one of the programs listed on https://amityonline.com/. Upon further investigation, it appears that different pricing information shows up on different programs. I don't see any of their PhD programs listed under online programs, but there are quite a few master's level programs.
Upon further investigation, check out item #11 in the FAQs: https://www.amity.edu/phd/faqs.aspx. It explicitly states that the PhD programs are not offered through distance education, it must be done on-campus.

Yep, looks like a no-go.

Although it's a no-go from a doctoral perspective, they offer quite a few programs at the master's level, and with the WASC accreditation, it could be a better choice than some other overseas options. For example, they offer an MBA program for 238,000 INR ($2,987 USD). And they have an MCA in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for 160,000 INR ($2,008 USD).

Yep, looks like a no-go. Well, I'm sorry that I gave out bad information. I'll need to be more careful reading the fine print. Perhaps I''ll do better with my next suggestion

Cool find. At a total program cost of RM 51,778 for international students, that would come out to $11,511 USD. According to a quick google search, the average cost of a DBA in the US is $47,400, so your find is considerably cheaper.

Really glad to see all of the replies to this thread. It is great to know that I sparked such a conversation! I was wondering if anyone knows about titulo propio DBAs in Mexico. I understand that Azteca has one, but are there any other places? I heard that quite a few exist, but I am unable to find them. Many thanks!

South African here. You can look at UNISA (University of South Africa), as far as I'm aware they're fully online (accept for certain degrees that might require practical/residency requirements (Education as an eg.))
Very cheap when compared to American standards (R18 795 OR $1032,81 for thesis- cant find any other fees besides thesis and possibly research proposal.)
https://www.unisa.ac.za/sites/corporate/...al-degrees
UNISA is fully accredited to South African standards and is respected within the country. Holding the same accreditation as the best university in Africa (UCT).
As a bonus, it is only REQUIRED to work on your PhD for 2 years, so if you were able to complete your research and thesis within that time frame you can graduate within 2 years. (As far as I'm aware UNISA does not allow any transfer credits for PhD programs, since all credits come from the thesis.)
In progress:
XAMK: Video Game Creation certificate (8/13 courses completed)
Metropolia: Multiple Courses (In Progress: IT Services Sales and Marketing)
Completed:
Sophia: 62 credits
i-to-i: 180-hour TEFL certificate (DEAC- accredited)

Couple things to add. Yes, there's a fee for the proposal, about 9250 SA Rand. Also, the tuition cited above is annual. But the point--that the program is inexpensive--is absolutely true.
It is not clear whether or not the student will have to spend any time on campus. That seems to be at the discretion of the advisor.
There seems to be a limited number of candidates they will carry for each degree, and it is a small number.
UNISA has a huge reputation for being a slow, bureaucratic slog, with students waiting weeks or months for responses to routine questions and issues.
UNISA used to have a policy that if you wanted to pursue a graduate or post-graduate degree, your had to hold a bachelor's from UNISA. While this no longer seems to be the case, it's pretty clear their graduate programs are administered with their graduates in mind.
Yes, UNISA is properly recognized around the world. It is not a top-tier university, but South Africa's higher education system is pretty well-regarded.
John Bear told the story of Douglas Dean, an inmate doing life in prison for homicide--a crime he committed in his late teens. While incarcerated, Dean did his bachelor's, master's, and doctorate at UNISA. You can imagine how difficult that was to do under the severe constraints that come with incarceration. Dr. Dean, now in his 70s, remains incarcerated with no possibility of parole.
