How To Raise Gpa At Excelsior
#1
Can anyone advise how to raise my gpa at Excelsior?

I have a 2.93 I believe and would like to raise it up to at least a 3.0 or even better a 3.5.

I have a "D" in Algebra that has brought it down and I am retaking that at Penn Foster (Tech Math).

Can I ask EC to remove all classes from my transcript that will not be applied to my degree program? This could also lower my GPA hypothetically right???

Contact your advisor and ask for approval to replace your lowest grades with DANTES exams, unless of course the grades you want to replace were already earned through DANTES. I recently received approval to replace US Hist I (I made a B) with DANTES Org Behavior; I haven't taken it yet, but believe an A is possible.

I took dsst graded exams and clep exams. On the clep I replaced my low grades even though the exams were pass/fail. If I had a c or b , I replaced those also. I am glad I put the extra work in, as once you graduate you can't go back and change it.

I recently asked my EC Advisor to remove all grade of "C" or lower that were not absolutely necessary for me to get my degree.

They happily obliged.

I went from a 2.98 to a 3.34 overnight. They also left all of the higher "A" grades on the transcript even if they weren't needed, just to help me raise my GPA. I recommend that everyone do this before January 2008 because it appears that as of that date you won't be allowed to do so.
