Maximum "graduate" courses can be taken for a term?
#1
I also saw for an undergraduate program, at most 16 credits can be taken at any one time, i.e. one semester.

How about for graduate program? I did not see such information posted in the graduate policy.

Does anyone have prior experience?

Thanks!!!

Quote:A recommended course load is 6 credits per term, allowing the degree to be completed in 18 months or less. Students wishing to take additional courses within a term are encouraged to reach out to their dean.

For the graduate programs, 6 credits of online courses is considered full-time: https://www.tesu.edu/about/registrar/enr...rification

Says right there that students who want more than 6 credits need to contact their dean. Without approval, you can only take 6 grad credits per term. 6 is full time for a grad student. Most schools only allow 6 credits and 9 if you're not working. Some schools require approval for 9 credits which is what TESU is saying above.

Yes, sometimes they will consider things like... have you successfully taken 9 credits before.

Don't forget that TESU terms are shorter than a regular semester - 12 weeks vs. 16 weeks - so it's more work than "normal."

This! Furthermore, the graduate level courses tend to be more research and time consuming due to extra writing assignments and review/study. I would highly recommend "taking the full term" number of credits of 6. If you absolutely need to be ahead by taking an extra course, get permission from the dean/director and take it, you're the one who can determine the amount of time needed to succeed in these classes - review any commitments you have...

Thank you ALL for the very helpful insights and suggestions. Yes, it seems I need to get some approval.

I will demonstrate to them that I have no problem completing 2 graduate courses in one term.

Thanks again!!
