My Tombstone is complete

The beatdown is OVER! I have met the enemy, and after retreating a few times to regroup, I have broken through fortified lines. I now know what it feels like to be done - RELIEF. I'd like to thank the academy for this award, I will treasure it. Seriously, I can't thank this site enough for keeping me motivated. The shortcuts through the woods, and general information has been appreciated along w/the money saved. While I only took (2) DSST's and (1) CLEP and (1) ECE {devil in sheepskin}, they played a big role in keeping me moving forward. PFC Info Literacy and ALEKS were truly time savers for me, to those who sent me PM's concerning them and other subjects, your help was truly appreciated. My intro to ALEKS couldn't have come at a better time. It is the way to go, bar none as far as I am concerned, especially when utilized w/algebrator, webmath and a few of the other sites with calculators (especially if you just can't get motivated for algebra). InstantCert is a great source for education information, comraderie, and inspiration. Once again, thank you to the moderators, Lords and other highpriests and even the squires, while some of my posts may have seemed drywitted (they probably were), I took this site seriously. One thing I have stated before and I'll mention again is how I can't understand why there are administrators at Excelsior who do not like this site. It gives them exposure in a positive way, yet they want to bite the hand that helps feed them. One thing I am definitely about is giving EVERYONE the opportunity to excel. Finances are holding many down and I feel some of these elitist administrators just don't get the big picture, some times it's hard to see from the ivory tower. What is wrong taking the path of least resistance and at a fraction of the cost? OK, that's enuff!!! Once again, thank you and to my military brothers and sisters, I most absolutely respect and commend you, especially those in Iraq. I wish I had the drive when I was younger to do what you are doing now, it would have saved me a lot of aggravation. Stay safe!

Mike (and to all those in the fiefdom), I work for a municipality as a wastewater treatment plant operator, I left a process unit at Sunoco to come back to be able to pursue my degree which was never going to happen there. I gave up a lot of $$$ with the hope that with my degree, I could get federal employment and live a normal life again, you know, going to my daughters soccer practices/games etc. If that doesn't work out, I work night shift and this allows me the normal life, believe it or not. It was a tough financial decision I made but I just turned 50 and you look at life differently all of a sudden. What good is the $$$ if you miss out on your families great times. So...... I want the $$$$, but I don't want to sacrifice valuable time consistently. After retiring from the Navy, rotating shifts and working days and weeks on end wasn't appealing. I should have realized that when I took the job. Hopefully, now that I have the paper, I can open a door into the federal gov't. I threw the dice, didn't I? If nothing happens that way, I could use it as nice wallpaper, or........dartboard.
