Need Classes Now
#1
Hi, long time reader, first time posting. I have $2,625 toward tuition that expires at the end of 2025. I really want to use this to register and start course(s). The benefit doesn't roll-over into 2026, but I do get another $2,625 in January. I need some ideas from knowledgeable people about what I can register for quickly with little hassle and start before December 31.

Saylor, Straighterline, Coursera, Sophia etc. are not eligible. UMPI and Charter Oak aren't approved.
TESU, WGU, SNHU, UMGC, CSU, Purdue Global are approved but they might take too much time to accept me into their programs. My best idea is ASU classes but it's not guaranteed because of how it's structured (pay $25 now, $400 when they get transcribed). Any ideas based on your combined experience and knowledge?

Thanks!

Welcome to the board, great initial post to get started, but it's missing the info requested in the addendum and template. It's much better to provide a greater overview of your scenario for members to assist you further. Please update this thread with the info asked for here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

In addition to this, you want to provide us a bit more details in regards to the tuition assistance or reimbursement. This should be Amazon Career Choice, and you work for Amazon, correct? Have you also checked out Excelsior, Walden, and the institutions listed for CBE? https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Co...d_Programs

go here

https://explore.suny.edu/courses

in the filter for "Start After" put today -- 12/15/2025

press Enter

after the list refreshes, sort by Start Date

there are a bunch of online courses that start TODAY

here are a few, but there are many more

if you call one of the schools you MAY still be able to register and start -- I doubt it though

Thanks! Good resource. The dates are right but I'll have to check if it's possible to register on short notice.

A possible option is to get in contact with Excelsior and TESU, see if you can get into Excelsior Info Lit and their Cornerstone class. For TESU, you want to see if you can pay for a couple of easy e-packs, even if it's a late registration fee required, as these are just exams.

Northern Arizona University's 4 week winter term starts today. If you could get enrolled and registered fast, their winter terms are a good way to get credit fast, but you can only take 4 credits at a time, since the courses are very condensed.

Thank you for the ideas. Most of them don't work under this tight schedule but are great choices for the future. I submitted a request for ASU that I don't expect to be approved because I'm not officially enrolled except for the free Google class. I wasn't a huge fan of WGU but they do have certificates that can be enrolled and started the same day. WGU is approved by my employer, Amazon, and they are $2,500 and under for a handful of courses. I'm pretty sure I'll end up in one of those certificates to hopefully transfer those credits to a regents bachelor degree at one of the West Virginia universities. Thanks again.

BTW, for the WV RA degrees, you need at least 3 credits from the institution you plan on finishing at, and 24 credits in total from a WV institution. Transferring WGU classes would work, but you still need to complete the 24 credits at a college or university of choice.
