I need to complete an Advertising class, and I am having difficulty with the TESC Advertising TCEP. I have read the book several times, but for some reason, I can't retain the information. I do not believe I have a chance of passing the test.
I understand Penn Foster offers an Advertising class, and it sounds like it is a less difficult process. What I don't understand from their website - can I take just one class at Penn Foster? Is there a large enrollment fee?
Thank you for any information you can provide.

Yes - they don't dwell on it, but it IS possible to take single classes from PFC. I'm not sure of the exact cost, but it should be somewhere around $210 a course - $70 a credit. At those prices, lots of Big 3 degree-completers use their courses.
Most Penn Foster courses are ACE-evaluated and that makes those courses likely candidates for Big 3 acceptance, despite PFC's overall National (DETC) accreditation.
Make sure the course is ACE-evaluated and acceptable to TESC before you sign up or send money. Good luck.
BTW - is this the advertising course you want?
MKT310 – Advertising Principles (3 credits)
Techniques of advertising; function of advertising in the marketing area; role of advertising in the marketplace.
It's from the Marketing degree program. I don't see it under the "Single courses" list, but that doesn't mean you can't buy it individually...at least I don't think it does.

PS - Be sure you pick from the degree-level courses. Penn Foster "Career Diploma" courses are good -- but not usually worth any college credit, in themselves.

Johann gives good advice. If you call 1-800-233-0259, you should be able to talk to someone in Workforce development about signing up for the course. (Don't leave a message.) For what it's worth, books are included in the tuition, and I don't recall an enrollment fee. Also, when you check the ACE web site, make sure that the evaluation is still in force. While I haven't taken this course, I've taken other upper-level courses. TAKE YOUR TIME on the quizzes, then, if you mess up on the final, you should still be okay. Also, be prepared to write a paper. Most of my upper level courses required one paper. Also, some "discussion."

Thank you so very much for providing me with this information. I am going to attempt to take the TECEP and then if I fail, I plan to go to Penn Foster. I just think, for me, it is better to break the course out into smaller parts as opposed to trying to take a test on this subject. I don't know what it is about this subject, but I can't retain anything I read. And yes, MKT310 – Advertising Principles is the course I am referring to. Thanks again, and God Bless.
