EC vs TESC?
#1
Hello everyone! I haven't posted much, but this site has been very helpful! However, I haven't found anything to really solidify my thoughts on EC vs TESC for a bachelor's in Natural Sciences. I just graduated from my local CC with an A.A in General Studies. I'm not 100% sure what I want to do exactly, so I'm doing some research and have a few questions.

1. I was looking into going into EC or TESC for a B.S degree in something like Natural Sciences. However, TESC only has the B.A in Natural Sciences/Math. Is it possible to make my own B.S in Natural Sciences at TESC or is it too close to the B.A already offered?

2. My CC is an affiliate school for EC. With the affiliate school discount offered, would it be cheaper to go with EC or TESC (while using the cheapest non-test out options as possible for either school)?

3. If I go with TESC's LDAS degree, what will show up on the degree? Will it just say LDAS? Will a LDAS degree look back in the future if I go for any higher degrees or jobs?

Figuring out a major is tough stuff... lol. I couldn't decide while at my CC and it's even tougher now~ Everything I'm interested in (languages, cultures, etc) are not things I can find jobs/a career in I would want to have. :ack:

Thank you to everyone!!! :hurray:
Let's see how far I can go~

TESC's BA in Natural Science/Mathematics is more test friendly than EC's program. No one really cares about BA vs. BS. Harvard only offers BAs (ABs) in all of their liberal arts subjects. Several other colleges are the same way. I wouldn't choose the LDAS. Yes, it will say Learner Designed Area of Study on the transcript. Like many schools, TESC does not list majors on the diploma. I've never had an employer ask for a diploma over a transcript. If you want to take a lot of courses with TESC or EC, TESC will definitely be the cheaper option. TESC will be the cheaper option under the Comprehensive Tuition Plan and the Per Credit Tuition Plan (using TECEPs to meet the residency requirement). TESC might be more expensive under the Enrolled Options Plan, but that could be balanced out by EC's lack of cheap test/course options for the natural science degree.
