#1
Hi,

Would one of you mind looking at my Academic Eval and help me map out a plan to finish?
Im looking for the quickest, cheapest option. I am an excellent test taker!
It would be very much appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Well for starters I see you are on the TES-100 degree. SIGN UP FOR TES-100 ASAP!!! If you don't sign up and complete TES-100 by July, 1 2019 you will have to take SOS-110 which costs over $1000 and takes 12 weeks to complete. TES-100 took me 30 minutes to complete and even if you were slow at it shouldn't take more than a few hours.

As far as testing, the business core is available as CLEP and DSST tests and TECEPS which are basically TESU's version of a CLEP.

MicroEcon CLEP
Macro Econ CLEP
Business Law CLEP
Finance DSST
Financial Accounting DSST
Business in Society TECEP
Managerial Accounting TECEP

Money and Banking DSST counts as UL for AOS but I hear its a difficult one.

You can obviously fill all your gen eds with CLEP/DSST. I don't feel like listing which ones go where I think you can figure it out. Take the Algebra CLEP to meet math, Composition to meet English, you get the idea.
https://www.tesu.edu/academics/catalog/c...am-program
https://www.tesu.edu/academics/catalog/dsst

If speed is your priority I'd say sign up for multiple CLEP/DSST tests in a day.

It should be sufficient to be registered for it in the July term. You don't need to actually finish it by then. In fact, it would be impossible to as the July term doesn't start until after July 1

The thing is I don't even know if there will be a July term. TESU has said multiple times on their website that after July 1, 2019 at midnight if even if you have started TES-100 if it isn't complete by July 1, 2019  you must take SOS-110. Even if you are on a prior catalog year that doesn't require SOS-110, if you don't complete TES-100 by July 1st you are out of luck.

I couldn't find the old link but here is the new one:

"Effective July 1, 2019, all undergraduate (associate and bachelor’s degree-seeking) students will be required to complete SOS-110: Critical Information Literacy (formerly Living in the Information Age) at TESU as an online course."

If I were you I would try to get into TES-100.

I think the OP is out of luck.  They no longer offer TES-100 (it's not on the page of courses: https://www2.tesu.edu/listall.php)  And even if it was, the late registration deadline for June is long passed, and at this point you can only register for the July term, which begins on July 1.  So forget TES-100 for anyone who hasn't yet registered, it's gone.

OP, get your butt on the TES-100 right away by calling them. I would register ASAP as natshar mentioned. I would try to get on the June term if possible even by paying a Late Fee as the course is very simple. As per the academic calendar, you can register for the July term and start on July 1. The link is here: https://www.tesu.edu/academics/undergrad-calendar

July 2019 Term
Course registration: May 17 - June 16, 2019
Late Registration: June 17 - June 30, 2019
Term Start Date: Mon. July 1, 2019
Deadline for 75% tuition refund: July 7, 2019
Deadline for 50% tuition refund: July 14, 2019
Deadline for 25% tuition refund: July 21, 2019
Midterm exam week for select 12 week courses: Aug. 12 - Aug. 18, 2019
Final exam week for select courses Sept. 16 - Sept. 22, 2019
Term ends: Sept. 22, 2019

EDIT: I just logged into OSS, the TES Cornerstone is NOT offered for July 2019 term! They cut that off before the July 1st deadline they mentioned... So, OP and others, get calling to TESU and try to get into the June term for the TES-100. PRONTO! I would rather pay that $300 TES-100 Cornerstone and an extra late fee than the $1125 SOS-110. It's more energy/money and time as that course is a 12-week course vs an hour TES-100 cornerstone!

I don't think there ever was going to be July term considering they have always said TES-100 had to be completed by July 1 at midnight. So at least for this TESU is not going back on their word, they did what they said.

But yes go call get on TES-100 because it save $1000 and 12 weeks of your time.

If you are unable to get into TES-100, WGU business degrees could be done both quicker and cheaper at this point. Also COSC is cheaper but idk about the quicker.

EDIT: It never was July 1st, it June 30th but it was midnight on July 1st so once the clock strikes July 1st no more cornerstone.

From my evaluation: Beginning July 1, 2019 all students who have not completed TES-100 by June 30, 2019 will l be required to take SOS-110 (3 credits), in lieu of TES-100. SOS-110 may be used to fulfill the required Information Literacy requirement or as an elective in all undergraduate degree programs.ly

I guess TES-100 is officially dead for everyone unless they finished it. Better update those degree plans. Glad I got in and got the cornerstone done before the changes happened.

I agree that you could start looking elsewhere. COSC is cheaper, may or may not be quicker (probably about the same timewise). WGU could definitely be done faster, esp if you brought in 75-90cr.

I'm thinking given the changes you are going to be writing a lot more COSC/WGU degree plans and less TESU ones.

Since most people aren't taking courses at TESU, it doesn't really change anything.

But, I am trying to learn COSC and WGU as well.
