Thanks again! How old is your daughter? If she is old enough to have significant life or work experience, she might be able to get the speech requirement waived, if she has significant experience. In fact, I'm quite certain that even if credit were not accepted directly for the speech requirement, a person could still get a waiver if they had completed a course like this. I got a waiver for this requirement based on work experience. http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...aiver.html

I applied for a waiver of the public speaking requirement with COSC and it was approved. I don't think they read it in any great depth given that I just re-read it and noticed I had put my degree down as a BA rather than a BSC in the header information
![]() I have presented a couple of proposals, facilitated a couple of training sessions, run project meetings, that was pretty much it. I just itemized them in the letter and got my manager to write a supporting letter confirming that what i'd written was all true. It was approved within an hour.

Thank you all! Unfortunately, she doesn't have much experience (she's 16). Where she works, she does have interaction with clients, but it's more one on one. The course would actually be really good for her. I would just prefer her to take it through Straighterline or BYU; not the COSC course. I will update the thread after contacting the adviser.

Updating from earlier post... COSC said they would accept the Straighterline Intro Communication course. It's a great option for the Oral Communication requirement.
