New idea for cheap RA credits?
#1
I'm helping a friend search for cheap RA credits (any subject, just need to collect more easy credits to improve undergrad GPA), and I recall that one thread mentioned PUG AS in professional studies, which charges monthly subscription fee ($195).  Though they charge $1900 for capstone.

So, can we just pay the monthly fee, collect credits (they do have many courses), and transfer out?  i.e. withdraw before the capstone.
Is this a feasible way?

It's $195.00 per month plus $100.00 for each Assessment of Skills and Knowledge, increasing the total cost by up to a few thousand dollars: https://www.purdueglobal.edu/tuition-fin...-and-fees/

I imagine your course options are going to be pretty limited, especially at the associate's level (since there's no upper-level classes required for the degree, they don't necessarily need to offer any to your friend): https://catalog.purdueglobal.edu/undergr...eeplantext

I think I figured out how this works! Thanks to this thread:
https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...-Knowledge

So the AS in Professional Studies is basically the same as Straighterline, Monthly fee + Exam fee for each course, In PUG' case, ASK fees ($100).
Indeed the choices are then limited only to the ASK courses, but still many courses (esp. IT).
I only need to ask PUG if their "AKS" are graded like UExcel. Will update once I hear back from them.

I think I remember reading that the ASK exams are ungraded.

What state are you in? Is your closest CC an option? It may not be the fastest option, but in many cases it can be the cheapest (possibly free) option.

Does your friend live in Texas, or are they Hispanic?

Right, just confirmed, they are ungraded.

An associate degree from PUG is pretty pricey. Why not get the free one from Pierpont? Or an in state community college. Pierpont would be the quickest.

Please check this thread for a new option that also has a monthly subscription: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...-at-300-mo

@OP, If you couple this with UMPI or another CBE option, you can get either LL or the UL credits cheaply and transfer to a different school.

Just a quick question, which school and degree program are you planning to transfer to?  The credits need to be graded for bumping GPA.

UMPI would be the best if you want cheap and fast graded credits.

UMPI only gives out A's and B's. Pretty much everyone here graduates with a 3.5 GPA or better.
Degrees: BA Computer Science, BS Business Administration with a concentration in CIS, AS Natural Science & Math, TESU. 4.0 GPA 2022.
Course Experience:  CLEP, Instantcert, Sophia.org, Study.com, Straighterline.com, Onlinedegree.org, Saylor.org, Csmlearn.com, and TEL Learning.
Certifications: W3Schools PHP, Google IT Support, Google Digital Marketing, Google Project Management

thank you all for the replies!
For now, UMPI seems to be the best choice (graded, fast, flexible). He needs to get the transcripts before September for grad school application, most community colleges are term-based (unless he registers for summer session, but UMPI is still faster).
