Nightingale Nursing LPN-ASN pre-reqs

Hello,

I am interested in the Nightingale LPN-ASN program and want to transfer in as much as possible. I also did UMPI BLS degree in 2024 and finishing my LPN this spring. I want to transfer in/test out of as much as possible GE classes but they don't accept Sophia/Straighterline. They don't accept University of Phoenix classes and I wont start until fall so here is the list of classes I need to complete. Let me know if you have any advice or have done this program. Anything helps. Here are the classes in their general education requirements: A&P 1 and 2, Pathophsyiology, Nutrition, and College Algebra/Statistics. I want to finish by july. Thank you in advance.

They do take CLEP. They also list UExcel, but that's not an option since those exams were discontinued. You really need to speak directly with someone from Nightingale and have them confirm what will transfer. Ideally, get it in writing so there are no surprises later when someone in administration decides to change their mind. After that, your safest route without wasting time and money is to just take the classes at a local community college. Some nursing programs are still very traditional, and whether we agree with it or not, they tend to only (or mostly) trust in-person or regionally accredited coursework more than anything else. If you're planning it out, you can avoid feeling overwhelmed if you stagger the classes the right way. For example, take Statistics with A&P 1, Nutrition with A&P 2, and Pathophysiology last.

Have you checked to see if they would take courses from a community college? I would get their approval on any courses before taking them elsewhere. No point in wasting your time or money if they won't accept the courses from another college.
