NEED HELP PLZ...FEMA confirmation
#1
[SIZE="4"]Hello everyone.

Can anyone who has taken FEMA courses online verify whether or not they received college credit from Thomas Edison State College. The course is:

IS-253: Coordinating Environmental and Historic Preservation Compliance.

Someone posted on here a while back, all of the courses that they have received college credit for and the ones that they didn't receive college credit for from TESC. This just happened to be one of the courses on his/her list that he/she didn't take at the moment the post was posted. I also need confirmation on 2 more FEMA courses as well:

*IS-302: Modular Emergency Radiological Response Transportation Training.
*IS-331: Introduction to Radiological Emergency Preparedness.

Just want to know if anyone who has taken these FEMA courses can confirm if they received college credit from TESC or not. I'd appreciate the help on this matter.

And last but not least... I also need confirmation on what the maximum number of credits are that TESC will accept for college credit from FEMA. I need to know what their policy is at it pertains to Business Majors. I've read on this forum before that Excelsior only accepts up to 15 credits from FEMA for Business Majors. I would like to know what TESC's policy is on this.

As for me I am starting on the path to earn my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in just 9 months! I am starting from scratch meaning I have no previous college credits under my belt. I still haven't decided between Excelsior or TESC as to what college I will eventually go with. I've also researched Charter Oak State College and they seem to be pretty cool but I've noticed that people on this forum don't seem to talk about them too much. So I've kinda put them on the back burner...making it a toss up between Excelsior or TESC. I do not plan on enrolling as of yet until I take all the CLEP/DANTES I need to be at least 85-90% finished with my program. I'm trying to save as much money as I can and don't want to get caught up paying extra annual enrollment fees. To date...I have successfully completed 7 FEMA courses online. So technically I have 7 college credits!!!(YAY) I'm going to finish taking the other 22 that I know are credit worthy. Then I'm going to start taking CLEP/DANTES exams.

I'm going the FEMA route for now because I am currently unemployed and don't have the money to take CLEP/DANTES exams right now. But I am studying and going over the Petersons practice exams. I promise all of you on this forum...in 9 months or less I will be a bona fide Degree Holder!!! Thanks to all for this forum and for all the good advice I have received thus far. I love how everyone supports each other in their endeavors, that's awesome. Now if we can just work on the rest of the world! Thanks again to all and may peace rest in your heart as it does in mine.

Marshall,

I didn't take that course, but I did send some others to TESC. While they have not finished my entire evaluation, I was able to notice from the part that they have finished that the posted FEMA courses to my transcript, however they gave me absolutely NO credit for them and listed them as NON DEGREE APPLICABLE classes. Check with your advisor. They likely only award direct credit for those classes that have been ACE approved.

My major is criminal justice/public safety so they would obviously apply to my degree if they accept them, but for some reason did not.

Miscellaneous graduate coursework from University of The Rockies and California InterContinental University (that did me absolutely NO GOOD whatsoever)

Can u tell me what Fema courses you've already taken thus far....maybe that will help me in my 'due diligence' investigation.

Thanks again for responding to my post.
