Odd scenario to degree exit
#1
Hi everyone, I might be overthinking this one but what is the situation if say I got approx 100 credits and go into one final term at TESU to get 16 credits, complete the Capstone and I end up with 117 total. I.e. one course short.

Then after that term later on I do another 3 RA credits somewhere (likely not TESU).

Can those later 3 credits be sort of retrofitted into the TESU degree to meet TESUs requirements?

I just realize I didn't think this thru totally.

I'm not completely sure what you're asking. But, unlike at other schools, a course only fills ONE slot at TESU. For instance, if you are getting a History degree, your AOS History courses cannot fill any history requirements in the gen eds; you need an extra course.

To get a TESU degree, you need: 120 credits. 90 of which can come from alternate sources.

The remaining 30 must be RA. 6 of those RA credits will come from the capstone/cornerstone. If you do the 16-credit term, that leaves 15 credits that must come from an RA source.

If you've met all your degree requirements for the capstone, cornerstone, filled in the gen eds, and the AOS, but you're still short on credits, you can transfer in any random course and it will go to electives.

If you're short a course (or more) after you've taken everything at TESU to meet the residency requirements you can still transfer in other credits (including RA courses from other schools), once you've met TESU's residency requirements they are met. You don't loose that standing (even if you attend another school later on).

Side-note: you do loose your enrolled status after a year of your last course/TECEP - being enrolled locks your catalog and your ability to transfer in as often and as much as you'd like for evaluation. So I would plan on getting any missed courses completed and transferred prior to the one year mark, then apply and be done (yay!)

Yeah, you can transfer in another course.

Maybe just knock out a quick and inexpensive course at OnlineDegree or InstantCert?

I snipped a bit of the previous post from Rachel83Az, the main point here is I wanted to reconfirm with you is that you get the 30+ RA credits, if that is met, you just need to take an ACE or NCCRS course of your choice as long as it hasn't or doesn't duplicate your current credits. If the 30+ RA credit hasn't been met, then it's easy, take a course from ONU or a community college, TECEP, or UEXCEL... whichever is your fave provider...
