The "Other Courses" aren't part of your degree plan, but they do end up on your official transcript though (mixed up with your other courses). I think this can give you a nice "boost" when providing transcripts for a job or for graduate studies.

Ack, or rather in this case, not such a nice boost! LOL!

The grades from your transfer courses don't end up on your TESU transcript, just the fact that you took them.

Age only comes into play when they are technical courses in the AOS.

Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)
TECEP:Env Ethics (2015); TESU PLA:Software Eng, Computer Arch, C++, Advanced C++, Data Struct (2015); TESU Courses:Capstone, Database Mngmnt Sys, Op Sys, Artificial Intel, Discrete Math, Intro to Portfolio Dev, Intro PLA (2014-16); DSST:Anthro, Pers Fin, Astronomy (2014); CLEP:Intro to Soc (2014); Saylor.org:Intro to Computers (2014); CC: 69 units (1980-88)

It doesn't list it on the plan like it used to, but I know the BSBA only allows 9cr over the age of 7 years to be used in the AOS (it's called "currency"). So, there may be a similar rule for the BACS that's just not listed anywhere convenient that you should know about. There's also probably a rule about computer courses specifically not being allowed to be more than 5 years old or something along those lines.

And, like was already mentioned, you can't use any course with a grade less than a C (even a C- won't do) in the AOS.

Now that the holidays, vacations, and AWS certifications are behind him, we are revisiting this before his enrollment expires.

Thinking the BS in Tech Studies is the way to go for just "checking the box", especially if they will indeed take all 71 credits.

Thanks again for your help!

Not only that, but Devry was not regionally accredited in 2002-ish when I almost went there. So, I'm also curious how this may go.

Well, I spoke to his advisor via email and the BA in Tech Studies is being added to his Academic Evaluation right now, saving him almost 25 more credits over the BA in CS. Wonders never cease!!!!
