Weird! I always thought the debt (even if combined), they would have a record of who owes what amount and who has to pay back whatever the amount is, plus interest. I find it strange that the combined balance would force one person into paying for the both of them, what does the ex-hubby pay? Nothing? It boggles the mind that they'll start looking at 'laws' to come into place in 2024 to address such issues... didn't they have these laws to begin with for student debt?! How can financial institutions do this, or make it better/more streamlined?!
