PCJ180, PCJ215 & PCJ315
#1
I'm wondering if anyone transferred a class that covered PCJ180 (Intro to Professional Communication and Journalism), PCJ215 (Business Communication) or PCJ315 (Professional Communication). If so, can you share what you took and where you took it?

Thanks!

I transferred PCJ215 into UMPI. I completed Business Communication at a community college ages ago.

Are you enrolled at UMPI? If you are, then you need permission from your advisor to take classes outside of UMPI and transfer them in. Also keep in mind that you must complete a minimum of 30 credits at UMPI and the majority of your UL credits have to be completed at UMPI.

If you’re enrolled then you need permission to transfer the class.

PCJ 215 has been reportedly fulfilled by Sophia’s Communication at Work and possibly Conflict Resolution. Also, Study.com’s Communications 120: Presentation Skills in the Workplace takes care of that course. It’s the shortest SDC class by length.

The other two I’m not sure about. Let me know if you find any.

I betcha that the UExcel Workplace Communication with Computers would cover PCJ 215, as well. To my knowledge no one has tried that.

I’ve also wondered if the Journalism TECEP would cover PCJ 180. I bet it would. No one has tried that either.

Shmoop had 2-3 communication courses I didn’t get a chance to take that would have worked for some of those PCJ courses.

I just checked the U of M system and it does not look like anyone has transferred in UExcel or TECEP exams to UMPI. I don't see any listed. The Cornerstone from TESU has transferred in previously as a 100 level general elective. And the UL Cornerstone at Excelsior previously transferred in as 300 level general elective but Info Lit was not accepted which is interesting.
