My brother is military and signed up for a clep three months ago and got one. It says on the Clep website somewhere all military get a frees study guide.

Hmmmm I haven't seen that anywhere.

Nevermind I found it. Only for Dantes funded CLEPers. Not vets.
On page 7 of the "Information for Test Takers" PDF:

"Get free study materials through your base
education center if you’re a DANTES-funded military
candidate. Candidates can also order free exam
guides through My Account. "

That does sound like a good benefit! Take advantage!

I would not recommend Pass Your Class. The CLEPs that I used their books for contained material that was way too easy. They also had a ton of grammatical and spelling errors. I would recommend using the REA study guides, InstantCert, and the Peterson's tests. You can always use Pass Your Class as an extra study guide, but I wouldn't use it as your only resource.

Yes I agree. They are too easy. I think they could be good as an introduction to the subject. Say you know nothing about a subject, start with pass your class and then use a different guide after. But I don't know if this would make the most financial sense though.

Unless you're a real-life version of Sheldon Cooper (from Big Bang Theory), I would not recommend one single source for any CLEP or DSST.  Even if you're well versed in the subject, there are often sections of the test that it's very unlikely you would be prepared for unless you use several sources.

I used InstaCert for most of the exams as well as info on free-clep-prep.com and full-length practice exams.  The awesome things about InstaCert are it's affordable, cancel when you no longer need them, pick back up if you do need them, and you get access on this forum to section with great exam strategies and info; not test content; but great preparations.  Instacert stays current on their exams info so you are much better off going with them for $20 per month.
