Psych 101 is listed on the website as a pre-req for the psychology major. I am wondering if that class Psych 101 would count towards the degree requirements if it is listed as a pre-req? Thank you!

If I'm not mistaken that's a new requirement so past experience, or even current experience of COSC students with degree plans under past-year catalog requirements, won't apply. My reading of the statement that it's a prereq is that it won't count toward the 36 semester hour psychology concentration requirements now – though it will count toward the liberal arts credits and overall credits for the degree.

It will count as an elective for the psychology degree (you get 21 credits of psychology electives); so yes it will count for your degree plan. I am a current COSC psychology student due to graduate in the Spring and it's listed on my advising worksheet as mentioned above. It will also count toward your Liberal Arts requirements as well. But please note that when academic requirements change, very often, students already enrolled under the old requirements may proceed under those old requirements ("grandfathering"), while new students work under the new requirements. The newly published information about a different treatment of PSY 101 in psychology concentrations likely will apply to lawqueen or others who enroll and file degree plans at Charter Oak from now on, independent of whether continuing students who enrolled and filed degree plans under earlier rules can continue under those earlier rules.

I understand that; I also just started my studies in May 2014 and my degree plan was approved at the beginning of August (2014). When I look at the website it shows the requirements that I am completing, so to my knowledge, this doesn't look like any new change to me.
