Peterson's Tests... How accurate of a predictor?
#1
I have a read a bunch of posts stating that the Peterson's tests are generally harder than the actual CLEP exam. I am wondering how closely do people score on the actual CLEP exams to the Peterson's practice tests?

I am taking on American Lit, English Lit and Business Law exams ALL on Tuesday. My average scores are: American Lit is 59; English Lit 63; Business Law 53.

Am I scoring well enough to be confident that I can pass these CLEP exams? Or should I postpone my tests and study some more? I already have 2 DSST exams scheduled for next week; so getting these out of the way would help my brain dumping this week.

Thanks for your input in advance!

Personally, I always tried to get north of 70. If I didn't, I would study some more although I wouldn't retake the Petersons.

I have always found the Peterson's to be a little harder than the real thing. Just my experience though.

Good luck,

My experience has been that if I make a 50 on the Petersen's that I'm good to go for the test. If you feel confident I would go for it. If not...spend a couple more days studying. In the grand scheme of things a couple weeks delay isn't going to make as much of a difference as failing a test. Big Grin

You are probably ready, but a tiny bit more studying would be my recommendation.

I too also found the Peterson's much harder and not an accurate indicator of sucess on the CLEP tests. I only used IC to study, tried the Peterson's and scored in the 50's yet managed to sucessfully pass all the CLEPs I took (see signature) and these were things I had NO experiance with like Business Law, ect.
