Please Help!
#1
I am six credits away from finishing my Bachelors degree. I need the remaining six credits in natural science. I want to finish before February. I know Biology well but I just took the Biology clep and failed with a 48. Anyone have any suggestions of a way I can take a decent priced exam online from my home? Other than TECEPS, EXCELS etc?

Please help!

Thanks!

Since you spent all that time studying Biology, one option would be to take the Natural Sciences Clep--it's half Bio.

Im considering that. But since I work full time and all testing locations are closed by then I would prefer an online exam option. Any ideas?

There are no online test options that you can do at home, at least not like CLEP, DSST, ECE, TECEP, and Uexcel. AbleU is developing options, but they don't have accreditation or any partnerships for acceptance yet. ALEKS math and statistics courses are online and ACE-approved. Straighterline has online courses in various science and mathematics subjects. Penn Foster has ACE-approved correspondence courses.

How does Penn Foster work? Where are exam options etc?

Penn Foster is a DETC-accredited college that offers courses through correspondence. You would have to complete a series of quizzes, tests, and possibly writing assignments in order to finish one of their courses. They are just regular college courses that are done at home. Some of the courses, however, require proctored exams.

These are the ACE-approved courses that are accepted by the Big 3.
ACE CREDIT | The National Guide to College Credit for Workforce Training
You have to actually click on them to check to see that they are currently approved. In order to order most of Penn Foster's individual courses, you have to call Workforce Development or whatever it's called.

I'm sorry to here your misfortune on the BIO Clep. I know it was hard for me as well. If you want to do the course completely at home Clovis Community College has online courses for Bio and Chem (both with lab) but you would have to do it over the full semester 14 JAN-10 MAY. Class numbers are as follows:
BIOL 113 - 1N1 or 1N0
CHEM 113 - 1N0

Course Schedule

It is my understanding that both of these courses can be completed without a proctor. Also the cost of Clovis Community College can't be beat!

I hope this helps!
