Okay. So I am back again trying to find ideas for post-masters. I mentioned in an earlier post getting a doctorate or PhD was out of the question.
I did however really like the idea of C.A.G.S. or similar. But the only online univ that seems to offer that is NCU and their reviews are the worse than all of the other online schools I have seen.
I started to dig really deep into post-masters certificates but it turns out MOST of them are not actually post-masters. I say this because they state the credits can be transfered into one of their Master degree programs.... That in itself makes the course work master degree level (graduate) and not doctoral of PhD level. After a masters comes a phd or doctorate.........
It is confusing to find the right program. I am trying to find something in law or criminal justice but would settle for 6-7 basic doctorate courses like statistics, research and design ect... I just want to experience the "higher level" courses. But ultimately would love to pick my own courses.
Any help on this would be lovely.....
Also, are there any (real) post-master certificates that provide a credential?

I'm confused by what you are looking for. Graduate courses taken AFTER a masters are post-grad. There are certificates, etc that you should be able to find without much trouble. What type of credential do you want? If you want an 18 credits for teaching, you can do that anywhere, it doesn't have to be formal.
It sounds as if you want to enroll in a doctorate program, but doctorate programs are research degrees....so I'm confused about what you want. You want to conduct research? The classes are not "higher level" they are different. Masters degrees summarize bodies of knowledge, while doctorate students contribute to the body of knowledge. So, in a master's degree you are still a student- sit back take classes, be fed information. Read articles, write papers, learn the field.
Doctoral study is when you create new information for your field, and then have it judged by your peers. If it's worthy, it will be published. If it's crap, you try again. The classes in those programs are for the purpose of your research.

I do not understand what you are confused about. I specifically mentioned that I am looking for something more advanced than a masters degree. The fact that most post-masters certificates contribute to the school's master's degree program I see it as taking master degree level courses. I stated I wanted something more than that. I even went as far as explaing NCU's program of C.A.G.S. which is an advanced certificate of taking doctorate level courses.
Yes. I am aware of what PhD's are. They are research degrees. But I must point out that you are wrong about doctorate degree being research degrees. Many doctorate degrees do not require any dissertation or research at all. the J.D., M.D., ect... You are mixing doctorate with PhD. PhDs always have a dissertation while doctorates do not.
What I am looking for is a certificate that involves advanced graduate studies at a doctorate level online.

Simply putting "CAGS" in to google brings up results, even one dealing with criminal justice.
Also, you might want to realize that you are on a website/forum primarily dedicated to helping people get their BA/BS by alternative testing. There are people here that are beyond that point but you aren't going to get a large number of people that are putting thought in to that point in their educational careers yet.

I doubt you will ever find doctoral level classes that will ever transfer into a doctoral program. I don't know of any school that will allow any credits to be transferred into a doctoral program, even if the coursework is deemed doctoral or post-grad level, so the only option of transfer it into a master's program. That might what you are seeing when you look at post-grad courses.

Thanks for the clarification. Maybe asking on a board where people are pursuing 100/200 level undergrad credit isn't the best forum for your question? I wish you the best.

From what I've seen, many PhD programs knock off credit for coursework completed in a masters. Actually, a lot of doctoral programs are set up for those coming straight out of undergrad, so they are basically a masters and doctorate put together. As stated above, simply searching CAGS brings up many results. What you're basically looking for are 700-level courses and above. Some CAGS programs are at that level and others aren't. I didn't get a lot of results for CAGS and Criminal Justice. The same two schools were listed over and over again.

A masters for under 11,000 dollars is amazing! Great job at finding that. To reply to a few answers at once a couple responders have their graduate degrees listed so this site was as good as any to ask my question. I also want to say that walden Capella and ncu accept transfer credits into their doctorate program. The point about the bridge masters to doctorate is something I did not contemplate. This is likely why they transfer into the masters first. Good observation. I will continue to explore!
