.82 up is over double their minimum requirement, it makes sense you're not having trouble with it.

Actually,
I had trouble with both laptops. The newest one, they tried changing camera drivers and some other stuff I couldn't tell what they were doing. At the end, it worked.

Can you get Proctoru to setup a session with you prior to taking the test to have everything tested out. I am scheduled to take my Intermediate Accounting II Midterm via Proctoru on Sunday. I am not worried at all about my internet speeds as I am around 50/50 with Verizon Fios. I do however, want to use my separate camera and not the build in one to my desktop. Was just wondering if there was a way to setup a session to get all the "bugs" worked out before hand. I plan on doing an extra 1 hour study session prior to my testing time and would hate to be held up an extra 30minutes prior to starting the test.

Of all of my courses I only had one real issue with connections and it was on their end. They had to transfer me to their tech person.......Still had a ton of lag, but all sessions have a little lag, this one was particularly bad. My internet is over 300mbps. My biggest issue with ProctorU is the inconsistent pre exam steps. They are all over the place. Some close out my ebook, some have me log off SL then log back on.....just all over, few give me bad information on the exam such as yesterday where my exam was an open book, 2 hrs, notes allowed, and one 5 minute break which I never use. She told me 2hrs, no break, no resources. I had to have her go and check again.

Well Mine is 3 hours, 1 handwritten page of notes front/back, no break that I am aware of. I can also use a calculator. Once again my main issue is I would like to use my aftermarket webcam and not the build in one. I would hate to have to rotate my desktop like I was doing for study.com courses because I couldn't switch the camera. By the way my desktop is a 27in screen mac, it sucked to do for study.com but I managed.

It's probably not of much use, but the following details my first and last attempt to use an external webcam on a system with an integrated one. Your mileage will, no-doubt, vary.
I tried taking an SL final by using a USB webcam (Microsoft LifeCam) because the hinge is busted on my laptop and it makes the room scan cumbersome. Prior to connecting with ProctorU, I set the camera to be the default (overriding the integrated camera, going so far as to disable the integrated hardware) and tested it by recording a short video, a Skype chat with my netbook in the other room (tethered to my phone, so on a separate network), and ran ProctorU's pre-test (which passed). My system is a lenovo U530 laptop with an i7-4500U and 8GB RAM.
When I went to take the test, it was nothing short of a charlie-foxtrot production. After 45 mins of the proctor and their tech people futzing around with drivers and settings, they were never able to get duplex video working. They could only communicate with me via the chat box, and said that the video of me they were receiving was very poor in quality.
Because their tests kept passing, the entire time they considered this their problem (which was very surprising to me) and, ultimately, they let me take the test under the conditions.
I still have no idea what happened. I have professional experience as an audio/visual systems integrator (which includes a great deal of networked video) and routinely have 2Mbps up from my ISP.
With the other 10+ ProctorU experiences I've had, I used the integrated camera without issue.
Hope yours goes better than mine did!

That's hilarious, because that's what I did.
I am fairly savvy with computers. I didn't relish the idea of spinning my new laptop up down and all around, so I put my lifecam HD-6000 on mine, tested it local, and then even ran it through their stuff.
twenty minutes later, one reboot later, they couldn't get it going, so I told them I'd unhook the camera. That seemed to resolve it enough to test.
Today, it was an extra twenty-five minutes because they couldn't get the mike to work. They dug through all my start menu lists, started edge (which I don't use), and IE (which, I never even started up, and it's not in start, I thought it was gone, actually).
They wound up working their stuff off IE, and I tested in firefox simultaneously.
Synn - I want to say that yes, you can set something up. I could have sworn I did last year when I first started. I was using XP, which passed everything, but they flunked me the second I tried to test. I came back with Vista, and swear I got them to actually two way with me. It is possible that on this point, I am mistaken, but I thought I did.
All - I don't have any problems with them trying to make whatever connections need to be made. My problem is, I am primed to test. When I gotta spend half an hour in a holding pattern, it makes it hard for me to remember what I was just cramming, and I honestly think it affects my grades. Overall, as long as you understand the limitations and risks, I'm ok with PU. First-world problems, I suppose. lol
