Programming course suggestions
#1
hi everyone - i am doing the bsba cis - and i don't especially like the look of the 'programming in C' course on study.com. has anybody tried the straighterline c++?

worst case scenario i can take a C course on Udemy and try to learn on my own. the course materials on Study seem really dry.

anyone else who had to choose a programming class, which one did you pick, and did you feel it was adequately explained ?

Doesn't the intro to programming python work for the programming requirement?

I took both the SL C++ course and the SDC C Programming course. But I came into both languages with significant prior experience in both.

IMO, neither course is sufficient to really teach a newbie enough to be successful in the language. The SL C++ course gets you pretty close, but I'm not confident that someone completely new to programming could pass all the programming assignments without spending some extra time learning stuff on Youtube or Udemy or something.

If you take Udemy courses to learn the languages and do a lot of practice programs that will probably be better. Then you can take either or both courses as a way to test out of the languages.

It comes in as COS-111 (Intro to Programming) at TESU, which meets the CS degree Intro to Programming course requirement. However, as far as I know, it doesn't count as a programming language in itself. Those will usually have the name of the language in the title of the course. Like "Programming in C", or "Java Programming."
