I have read over about 100 pages of posts over the last couple days trying to determine which school I'd like to enroll with. It seems to me that the TESC advantages are FEMA & a state school name. Excelsior's advantages seem to be that they have a payment plan and good customer service. I also think I read that they confer degrees (i think that's the right word) more often. Please share any specific advantages or drawbacks you see to either school. Also I've read that Excelsior gives a discount to veterans. Dh is a veteran of the Gulf War and was honorably discharged 12 years ago-would that discount apply to him?

You have the pros and cons pretty well summarized. I just applied for graduation with TESC last night and will be re-evaluating both schools here soon as my wife gears up to enroll.
Currious to see what others have to say.

The way I understood it, the extra accommodations for military applied to active duty and active reserve. I'm a vet, and the way I remember it I don't even count as military affiliated for most of their purposes except VA benefits coordination. If I'm wrong, feel free to speak up people. :o

EC gives you graded credits for some exams (the list is shrinking, so this is probably only true for the next few months or so). If a GPA is important to you, this is something to consider.

What major are you looking into?
TESC accepts 200 level courses and above for upper level credit, while Excelsior requires 300 level and above. Excelsior also requires at least 30 upper level credits for many liberal arts degrees. TESC seems more flexible to me in this respect.
Excelsior does have better customer service, imho. They answered a lot of my questions about degree requirements before I officially enrolled or paid for an evaluation. TESC has been very tight lipped about the same type of questions, even after paying $75 for an evaluation.

I am interested in majoring in social science, history or some type of human services.
Another thing I am interested in finding out about is EC's acceptance of Aleks credits. Do they take them and if so what is the lowest level math from Aleks that would take care of my math requirement at EC.
