Psych: Time to knock them out-advice?
#1
Okay, so I've been at Clovis and took ethics and psychology. Now onto my tests. They are all in 2 genres-psych and sociology so I would love some guidance for the order. Yes, I did the search feature and got some ideas for a few, but this is quite a list LOL

Intro to Sociology
Marriage and the Fam-tecep
Intro to Human Services-tecep
Human growth and Dev-Clep
Educational Psychology-Clep
Organizational behavior-DSST
Fund of Counseling-DSST
Substance Abuse-DSST
Research Methods ECE
Abnormal Pych ECE

Also, I just took ethics. Can I also take ethics in america? The course # is different.

Thanks! All help is very appreciated.

I haven't taken all of those tests, but I can tell you that Intro to Educational Psychology, Fundamentals of Counseling, and Intro to Sociology are relatively easy. I would start with all of the intro courses and substance abuse and then work from there. I would probably leave Abnormal Psych, Research Methods, and Organizational Behavior for last.

You probably could take Ethics in America and it would go into general education as a humanities course or free electives. I'm assuming you're majoring in psychology or human services. It doesn't hurt to contact TESC, though, since they can be funny about things like that.

how was intro psychology? Any where I should start first? I need to take 12 hours of electives and sociology and psychology seem interesting enough to study for!

Intro to psychology is one of the easier CLEPs.

Thanks and yes I'm working towards a psychology degree.

I'm so excited to get started on testing now! I'm planning sociology and hg&dev back to back next weekSmile

Has anyone taken the teceps I mentioned? I wonder how they tie in.

Did you confirm with TESC that all of those tests would fit into the psychology area of study? Substance Abuse is the course I know of that is not transcribed as psychology, but can go into the area of study for the psychology program. Have you taken Intro to Psychology? That would be a better choice than Intro to Sociology and you're only allowed up to 6 100-level credits in the area of study. Intro to Human Services fills 3 of those if the course will even be allowed in the area of study. Are you taking sociology as a social science course for general education requirements? Marriage and Family is transcribed as a sociology course, so I don't know if that would be allowed either. Why did you choose those TECEPs over the psychology tests offered by Excelsior?

Thanks, I'm using marriage and fam and intro to human sv as social science creditsSmile I figured I would throw them in the list since there has to be a little over-lap.

I took Intro to Psych at Clovis CC this Spring so that's all done.

I am picking up a few more psych credits at another cc to finish them out bc I really enjoy the classes.
