Degree planning BA in CS and BS in homeland security

Decide on what you really need versus what you want, I'd get the 2 Associates, 2 Bachelors, and maybe a cert or two (up to max of 4)

1) AS Comp Sci & Math and AAS Applied Computer Studies & Environmental, Safety, and Security Technologies
2) BA Comp Sci & BSBA or BS with an AOS of your choice, all the classes you take go towards the Associates.
3) Any 4 undergraduate certificates as long as you can transfer in all the credits into the programs affordably.
The degrees you were looking for are not as transfer friendly, thus, you'll take many classes that can't be transferred.
My main priority is the BA in Computer Science, since that’s what I need for my long-term goals. I asked about the possibility of earning more than one degree because I read that TESU allows for additional degrees and certificates, and I want to be strategic with the credits I bring in.
I’d like to plan this out effectively would you recommend that I prioritize the CS degree first, then work on the additional degrees or certs afterward? Or is it better to structure things so that classes overlap and count toward multiple programs from the start?
I definitely want to stay efficient while making sure I meet TESU’s requirements and come out with credentials that will help me stay competitive. Appreciate your insight!

I have tried to get the course by course evaluation, but the agency doing the evaluation requested the transcript be sent in a sealed envelope from the issuing college. That college changed their process and there is no way I can get them to send my transcript. Would a certificate of evaluation of the degree be sufficient or does need to be course by course.

Only TESU can tell you for sure how to deal with this.

Thank you so much . I did contact them and got that resolved.

@Noelle67, I already answered your question in the post you quoted. 2... all the classes you take go towards the Associates. We're on the same page, but you're reading things differently. Here's an example, you have 4 small puzzles that create 1 big puzzle. It's like having a big square, and splitting it into 4 even smaller squares (4 inside 1).

In brief... You already have a foreign Bachelors/Masters, once evaluated by a FCE and a favorable evaluation/transfer takes place, that takes up 3 of the 4 squares already, you just need to complete the final requirements BA Comp Sci to finish off the last square. The associates already will be complete when you've done your BA Comp Sci...

I just wanted to come back and report some progress. I’ve been following everyone’s advice and focusing on what I need for the BACS. So far, I’ve completed the following courses based on the : https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sa...ience_Plan

Completed Courses:
·      Introduction to Programming in Python – Sophia
·      Introduction to Java Programming- Sophia
·      Computer Science 201: Data Structures & Algorithms – Study.com
·      Calculus I- Sophia
·      Math 104: Calculus- Sophia
·      Math 108: Discrete Mathematics- Study. Com
·      Computer Science 105: Introduction to Operating Systems Study.com
·      Computer Science 306: Computer Architecture (UL). Study.com
·      Computer Science 302: Systems Analysis & Design. Study.com
·      Computer Science 303: Database Management. Study.com
·      Business 303: Management Information Systems Study.com
·      SAS Advanced Programmer Certificate- Coursera
·      LL BUS-210- CSM learning
·      Introduction to College Mathematics. Sophia
·      Introduction to Statistics Sophia
·      Coursera Cloud Data Analytics Professional Certificate- Coursera

Need to be completed
·      CS 302: Software Engineering. Saylor
·      CIS 375: Human Computer Interaction – Strayer Challenge

And just to double-check, is there anything I might be missing in my AOS for BACS?

I’ve already applied to TESU and am currently waiting to be officially accepted. I’m also waiting on my foreign BS evaluation from WES.

In the meantime, I wanted to ask can any of my master’s-level courses be transferred to meet the GE or 30 RA requirements?
Also, could my master’s-level coursework possibly be applied toward another TESU degree, such as Psychology or something in the Social Work realm?

Thanks again for all the help

Yes. A maximum of 30 semester hours of graduate credit can be applied toward a bachelor’s degree per the Transfer Credit Policy.

Possibly. Timing is important; note the date requirements of the Earning a Second or Successive Baccalaureate Degree section of the Award of Degrees Policy. TESU has programs in Psychology and Human Services. Psychology is popular here; Human Services involves work and internship requirements and does not get much attention here.

I was just curious because I have 64 credits from my master’s program at an accredited university in Minnesota. Thank you for explaining that! Yes, timing is definitely important. Yeah, I’ve already done so many internships for my BSW and MSW, I definitely don’t feel like doing more, lol.

So if I complete all the AOS courses for the BACS listed above, would I only have the capstone left to finish, or would I still need to take additional electives/AOS to take the capstone ?

Once all your AOS requirements are met, I would work on the capstone as the last item to check off...
