I'm about to get started on American Government and I'm currently not in IC. So I was wondering if someone recently took it and used IC and could tell me if it would be good to use the flash cards and the forums to study. Or could someone check out the Am Gov thread and see what they have to say about IC. Thanks!

I think they want you to pay to see that
I would imagine there is a ton of information on the internet about how the government is set up so I would start there if you don't want to pay.

American Government was upgraded to v2. That makes it much more efficient to use. The subscriber only posts are mixed, just like the public ones. Some say it is easy, some say it is hard. Some say InstantCert is all you need, some say it is not.
I've observed two patterns in the posts on American Government. Older people tend to think it is easier than younger people. This makes sense in that older people (if they are voters) are more aware of American Government than a teenager who has never voted. People who watch CSPAN tend to think it is easier. They've probably seen a filibuster or a cloture vote.

I used IC for Amer. Govt. and supplemented that with REA Am. Govt. and Peterson's tests. I took the test Nov. 2010 & passed w/66
The test is more subjective than fact based. Since IC is more fact based, I filled in with REA.
Despite living a long time, voting in all elections and watching much government in action, I still didn't know most of the material. In fact, the experts say that most Americans think they know more about government than they really do and I am proof of that.
I also watched Standard Deviant Govt. videos and used historyteacher.net to fill out what I thought was missing.
I discovered REA three days before the test and I must say, it was a Godsend!
It helped me pull the subjective pieces together.
Good luck!
