Racking up credits to transfer to WGU?
#13
dfrecore Wrote:The rule at WGU is that you can apply, transfer in any credit you've earned to that point, and then enroll. Once you enroll, you can no longer transfer in ANY credits (for example, if you were in the middle of a semester at a CC). So, you really need to do EVERYTHING before you enroll there.

They are much more customer service oriented than TESU for instance, and will help you plan out what will work for different areas. Between them and this forum, you should be able to get all 90cr completed and transferred over to them.

The other good thing - they let you apply for free, so you're not out of pocket anything when applying, although the cost of sending transcripts will be there.

As far as speed, it's impossible to tell someone how quickly they can accumulate credits, because it is dependent on a slew of factors; how much time you have to dedicate to your courses/exams, how quickly you read, if you're a good test-taker, etc. Plus there's previous life experience, making some courses easier for you than others.

As I also said, you can get most of your credits for an average of about $100/course or less, so for 90cr, that's 30 courses, which is about $3000. If you take ALEKS courses, Saylor courses, Shmoop courses, 6cr CLEP exams, more than 3 courses in a month at SL, more than 2 courses in a month at Study.com - all of those will bring down your costs, some considerably.

One more question, would you consolidate those 90 credits on ACE before transferring?
