The way we hack degrees, we usually don't spend much time watching professors' lectures while completing our courses.
AI tutors can help speed up the process of understanding course material. To me, it's more evidence that spending four or five years sitting in a traditional college classroom can be an inefficient use of time and money.
A human tutor with expertise in a specific subject can still be better in some cases, especially since you can explain how you want to be taught and what your goals are. The downside, of course, is cost.
It probably wouldn't be worth paying for a tutor for a relatively straightforward course like History I, but it could be very useful when learning a complex subject or developing a difficult skill.
