SL Algebra Grade Question
#1
Hi all.

I just finished my straighterline college algebra final with a course score of 69%. Obviously I'm just shy of passing the course.

I have 1 question wrong on my first quiz. My score on that is a 95% (118.75). If I retake it and get 100% will that be enough to pass the course? I've failed and retaken this course several times already (always failing by 5% or less) and I really, REALLY don't want to have to take this course again.

Depends on your total score as of the moment. Based on what you said, you are currently at 69%. That is 690/1000 (given it is not rounded off). Getting the last question correct on your Quiz 1 will only add up another 8.25 points. That put's you up at 698.25/1000. I don't know if they round up or not. Calculate your total score for each test and final exam and add the 8.25 if you will make it to 700 points.

In case you can't make it, go with ALEKS. For $20, you can try the initial exam. More practice on what you've learn from SL and give it a try. Don't rush on the initial assessment as it is not timed. If you make 70% of your initial assessment, then you are good. Add it on your ACE transcript. Good Luck!

Thank you. The 69 is my total course score - I've finished all the quizzes and the final exam. So far SLhas been good about giving me free retakes but my brain just feels tired lol.

Does WGU accept credits from Aleks?

WGU does accept ALEKS as far as I can remember. I would probably ask them, but it can't hurt to do it and get it on the ACE transcript.

I applied to WGU and they took my ALEKS College Algebra credits. I know quite a few here have mentioned the same.

If you have the option to retake any of the prior exams with the SL I would try it first, you don't have anything to loose and it could be just enough to put you to the pass (70%)

Straighterline rounds up. Do the first quiz to get a perfect score and see if that's enough.

Also, when I open their syllabus, I see different point values for both versions, neither matches what you're saying (where 95% is 118 points) if you post your points we can check for sure.
