TESU allows you to transfer in literally everything except the capstone & cornerstone. While there are some core requirements that need to be met, you can still tailor the degree to your liking. The 90 credit limit on non-RA credit doesn't mean that the degree will cost that much either.
$750 for 15 credits at ONU - $50/credit from Olivet Nazarene (or 15 credits at TEL Learning for $1000)
$250 (approximately) for Sophia - which you've already completed
$45 for American Government from InstantCert
$4639 for a 16-credit term OR pay $3114 for capstone/cornerstone + $3192 residency waiver fee + $450 for 9 more ONU credits = $6756 if you only take the capstone/cornerstone at TESU
$1000 for Study.com (approximately; costs may be slightly lower or higher depending on which courses you take)
$300 for 2 Coopersmith exams
Total cost: $7000-$9000. If you intend to stick to American History as much as possible instead of just going with what SDC has available, costs will go up slightly.
EC, on the other hand requires some very specific courses for their History degree. These courses must be taken at EC. The cost is still reasonable, but if you don't like these core courses then that's just too bad. They also require 30 UL credits to TESU's 15 (18 when you count the capstone).
Which classes, specifically, do you like at SNHU? There are a TON of UL History credits available elsewhere, including a lot of interesting courses focused on American history.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

This is so overwhelming. I cant even understand what I am reading. I don't know what RA is and how I know if a class is RA or not. I dont mind taking one or two classes that isnt geared towards American History but I dont want my whole degree to be the history of the world. LOL I love American History so thats what I want to study. I need to go the route that will allow me to use as much financial aide as possible. Meaning, I can't be paying $1000s out of pocket to transfer to the university.
Heres what I wanted to take at SNHU:
Colonial New England
Young America
European Conquest of New World
American Slavery
Civil War and Reconstruction
African-American History since the Civil War
IDK, this is overwhelming and I am having a hard time sorting it out in my head to make it make sense what I need to do. I will look over it all again and see what I can figure out.

Ah, if you're going to be using financial aid, UMPI is almost certainly your best bet. They may not have all of the classes you love, but the Pell Grant is not nearly enough to fully cover the cost of getting a degree. You'd need to take out loans. We try not to recommend loans here unless it is absolutely necessary.

Hi. Compare https://www.snhu.edu/admission/academic-.../VkNsQEIYx to https://tesu.smartcatalogiq.com/Current/...in-History
SNHU has 6 required "history" classes: US History 1 & 2, World Civilization 1 & 2, Making History (I assume this is like Historiography), and Capstone. It then has 6 history elective slots (which include your concentration), 12 free elective and 13 general elective slots.
TESU has 7 required "history" classes: US History 1 & 2, World Civilization or Western Civ 1 & 2, The Middle East, Historical Methods (again, I assume this is like Historiography) and Capstone. It then has 4 history elective slots (there is no concentration), 4 humanities elective slots and 10 free elective slots.
If your goal is to take all the classes at one college, go ahead. This forum is really focused on alternate sources of credit, instead of sticking with a single college for the entire degree. But there are absolutely ways to fit many US History classes into a TESU plan.
In Progress: MBA - HAUniv, Anticipated 2024
Completed: BSBA OpMgmt - TESU June 2021
UG - AP Tests: 20 credits | APICS: 12 Credits | CLEP: 6 credits | Saylor Academy: 6 credits | Sophia.org: 27 credits | Study.com: 12 credits | Davar Academy: 3 credits | TESU: 15 credits | Other College: 99.5 credits
GR - HAUniv: 9 credits

Im not eligible for the Pell Grant so it would all be loans, which is annoying but oh well. I finally think I get that TESU plan you sent, the 16 credit thing. I might still look into TESU depending what I can or can't do with SNHU. Thanks for your help

OP - Are you working? Do you have tuition assistance or reimbursement? If you're paying out of pocket, the cheapest, easiest, fastest option would be the UMPI BA History. It's competency based, so it all depends on how fast you can complete the courses, if you finish the 10 courses or so in two terms, your degree will cost $5400, you can transfer in 90 credits from ACE sources such as Sophia.org/Study.com
One more thing, RA = Regionally Accredited, so that means anything that is a course from a college/university or institute that has RA. ACE is not RA but recommended for credit (Alternative credit through testing, or classes). I would just spend some time looking/reading through posts and also the Wiki (in my signature).

2 terms at UMPI costs $2800. Not sure where that $5400 comes from. It's $1400 per term at UMPI.

Your Gen Eds are mostly met by Sophia, so if you did decide to go with TESU, you could do the following for your AOS:
Required Courses
American History
American History: Met by US History I & II @ Sophia
Non-Western Civilization (signified by "HIS-310" in the current catalog)
HIS-261 Introduction to Chinese History & Culture - Take as part of 16-credit term
Historical Methods:
History 301: Historiography & Historical Methods
World history/Western civilization
HIS 210 - Western Civilization @ ONU - $150
History 102: Western Civilization II @ SDC - $100
AOS Electives:
History:
History 306: The American Civil War Era @ SDC - $100
HI308: Modern America, 1919-Present (RA credit) @ Sterling College - $435
HI304: Civil War Era (RA credit) @ Sterling College - $435
HI421: Topics in American History: African American History (RA credit) @ Sterling College - $435
Humanities Electives (does NOT include History); any 4 of the following:
Art History I @ Sophia
Art History II @ Sophia
Visual Communications @ Sophia
Communication at Work @ Sophia
Conflict Resolution @ Sophia
Ancient Greek Philosophers @ Sophia
Add PSC 223 - American Government from ONU for $150 or TEL Learning for $200 and this plan includes all the RA credit that you'll need, once you take into account the 16-credit term.

I would be concerned about these duplicating, unless you know that TESU brings them in as different course codes?

I will look into UMPI classes a bit more and go over these suggestions and see whats what. Thanks
