Saylor Intro to Statistics
#11
Disclosure -- I'm on staff at Saylor.

Yes, SL uses our MA121 course material paired with their exam. You can also use our course and exam (ACE | ACPE-0017) directly. Depends where you hang your hat, I suppose.

The suggestion of Business Stats is probably a good one if your school will take it. Our Business Stats is currently under NCCRS but not ACE.

Anecdotally, people do find our MA121 exam to be difficult. I would recommend practice with the regular exam early and often (up to once every seven days...creating additional accounts to get around that is not a good plan!) and comfort with statistical tables. Even better to have some common/frequent values memorized.

More specifically, the exam recommended by ACE is similar to the regular certificate exam. 50 multiple choice questions (4 options each) in 2 hours. Online scientific calculator and stats tables PDF allowed, plus blank scratch paper.

Hey Sean,

I always appreciate when providers or school reps drop by to give their two cents, and I think I speak for most folks here when I say that (forgive me if I'm wrong, community).

And even more so, I super appreciate that you're upfront and disclose that you are an employee.

So welcome to the forum, and I hope you stick around!

Thanks, jsd! I'm going to play it safe here; no spin or marketing, no elbows on the table -- just answers and clarification where useful, and listening/learning.
