not for the Rio nutrition lab.  That is only worksheets and a 3 day diet analysis.  No tests or "labs" in the traditional sense.

Does this contain a lot of math / stastics? What kind of questions do you need to answer?

I can't share with you the exact questions, but this would be typical:

<story / case study>

1. Is Jane getting enough protein under her current diet?
2. What are some ways for her to increase her protein?
3. Is Jane's sodium in the acceptable limits according to USRDA?
4. What foods in Jane's diets provide the most sodium in her diet?

What changes?

It looks like schools are questioning the integrity of SDC credits. They have a format that breaks down a textbook into plain English, they focus on need to know information, and quizzes are broken down into smaller and more digestible chunks. So ppl tend to be more efficient when it comes to completing their credits with SDC.

My son took a nutrition class and a physical science class (heading to COSC). I'm trying to weigh the pros/cons of him either signing up for a bio/bio lab OR finding a stand alone nutrition lab. 

I know about Rio Salado for nutrition. Apparently with the fees and 1 credit tuition it would be $270. I've heard it's quick. What is it like?

If I go with Straighterline - $99 fee, bio class and bio lab together apparently are $49 and $69 together so up to around $200. Of course there is SDC - $199. Cookderosa - have your sons finished this?

Maybe discounts with SL or SDC would bring it down to do the bio/bio lab? 

I'm weighing - faster and easier vs. cheaper. 

Any other standalone nutrition labs? How is the bio class? My son is not a big fan of science in general.

If I had to take a science lab course at this point, I would definitely do this one - no way do I want to do anything else, even if this is more expensive.

I took all my sciences as a distance learner and there were plenty of labs that were just torture.  That said, Rio was smooth sailing. There aren't even "labs" just worksheets where you type your answers to the questions.  2 of my sons needed a science lab, but only one took it - the one who I would say is less academic - no trouble at all.

Hate to bother you again Jennifer  but there are two nutrition labs I see - FON 241LL and FON 100LL. The second one has no prerequisites. They look very similar so maybe either would go with the Nutrition for Health and fitness that my sons took. Which one did you do?
