Hello!
I am going to take the Intro to Sociology CLEP on the 1st of October, but I have a few questions.
I keep hearing that this is a easy test, but I really want to know if it is...I can't help but think that there are SO many terms that I don't know and need to memorize! I am a little nervous about that...
Also, does IC help a lot on this particular test?
Thanks!
Tiffy

Easy if you study, easy if you prepare, easy if you know the terms.
No singluar test is "easy" yet some may (on the surface) be less demanding (code for easier) than others.
Take no exam for granted - study hard!
GOOD LUCK!!!

I too am taking Intro to Soc soon, this coming Tuesday! I took Human G & D today and passed with a 60. I have been told these two somewhat co-exist. Not sure and havnt began studying yet. I thought I was a graduate RN up until last Monday when my wonderful college, sigh, informed me that I was 6 credits shy. So in oder for me to graduate with my peers, I have to CLEP out of G&D and Soc before 9/16. One down and one to go.
I was told if you know the material, this test is pretty cut and dry.

I took the Intro to Soc. exam about 5 weeks ago. I studied IC hard, knew about 90% of the flashcards by heart. I did read the Passyourclass study guide and took all three Petersons Exams, which they say are harder then the actual clep. On my exam there weren't too many questions asked that had anything to do with what I learned on IC, BUT had I not known the answers on IC I don't think some of my educated guess's would have been so educated.
Keep in mind that there are different forms of the exam, so the one you take might be totally different then what another person might take. I would highly suggest using IC and taking the Petersons practice exams, there is a clep study guide that has a practice exam in it and these are done by the same people putting together the actual exam. Don't rush yourself and once you take some practice exams you'll know if you are ready.
I have one study guide from passyourclass I can send you if you would like, just send me a pm with your email and I'll send it to you! Good luck, you'll do great I'm sure.

I took this as my last exam to earn my AA in June. Compared to some of the other exams I have taken ut was easy. I was telling my 18 year old son just last week that I thought this would have been a good exam to start with, but he had already signed up for the class. On tuesday he had his first class and he felt the teacher was boring and slow, so he dropped the class and is going to try the CLEP.
I found the exam feedback section helpful. There are a couple of names of people that you should know at least the basics about. Don't worry about getting to deep into the subject it is only an intro.
Good Luck

Studying for the CLEP now. Am about ready to take it. I am going through RUE for books (big costly mistake) and IC. I read the condensed version they send and do the flashcards. I was told today this CLEP isn't that hard. My last CLEP was G & D and I didn't think it was bad at all. It all kinda rolls together from what I understand. As someone wrote above, this is only intro. shouldn't be that tough. Good luck!

I took this exam many moons ago. It was also my first and by far the easiest. Yes, studying for this exam stinks but using IC is a tremendous help. Remember, it's all about the number of right answers, regardless of difficulty. I hope that helped. Good Luck!
