Sophia: Workplace Writing II as ENC-1020 Writing for Success II at TESU?
#1
Does anyone know what Sophia's Workplace Writing II (ENG1020 - 2021) transfer in to TESU as?
Has anyone had luck transferring this class in as ENC1020 at  TESU?

I'm surprised nobody has tried to transfer this to TESU yet. Or at least, they haven't reported it so we can update the Sophia Equivalency Wiki.

I can confirm that it was accepted as ENC1020.

That is good news.

Cool, that's expected.... Hmm, I'm more interested or wondering, would the other corresponding Writing I class hit the other ENC requirement as well?

what happens if you have both Sophia's ENG Comp II and Workplace Writing II? (double ENG Comp II? so moot?)
/
If so .. I am "skipping" Workplace Writing II (I have ENG Comp II), as it has a BUTT LOAD of touchstones (6?) ... (unlike "Intro to Web dev = "worth taking", even if tesu wont take it, as it is super easy, with 1 touchstone)
/
A bit off/related topic:
Either/Or "looks" the same difficulty, ENG Comp II seems very "traditional" (hyper similar to ENG Comp I), I have NOT seen Workplace Writing II's touchstones/human-graded assignments yet, so I'm unsure if its the same
/
ENG Comp II is all "stuff" like writing a paper for an Industry Journal (cough, the graduate level "grievance studies" gag, by Peter Boghossian comes to mind) >> so "Easy-Peasy" (this is a very common work/academic task)
(Oddity = I write everything I can, for Sophia, on highly technical cybersecurity stuff, I doubt the human reading could tell if I made it all up, or if my arguments/assertations are even valid)
/
/
So... what is the basic on content of other... is it considered "easier"?

A couple of things.

1. You need to stop using "/" in between paragraphs it makes everything you write harder to read.
2. Workplace Writing II has only 6 touchstones compared to 7 with ENG COMP II. Both will meet the same requirement at TESU and UMPI so it is generally a waste of time to do both.

Hi @infradata.it@gmail.com,

to answer your questions: as both courses are pretty much equivalent (and treated as such by TESU), either of the two will become a duplicated course and goes straight to the "Other Courses" section (remaining there as useless) as soon as you transfer them in. Hence, I guess the Workplace Writing II course seems to be a little less work, as you have 1 assignment less to do.

Basically... If it's a duplicate class, it'll be placed outside the degree requirements and be noted it's a duplicate class. If it comes in as another class altogether, if it's not part of the degree requirements, it'll also be placed outside in the other courses area. You'll be able to place it in your electives if you have enough free space under electives left though...

I have written so many short essays (cant "cram" an essay...) ... I can always return to do Workplace Writing II, if I need too. (I did Eng Comp II, for safety)

(I'm sticking with finishing the last few Sophia classes, then its U. Helsinki / Pima / Clackamas with 100% effort, for RA's)
