I don't know which test is easier, but I found studying for Ethics in America much more enjoyable. If I enjoy something I put in much more effort into it, so for me ethics would end up being easier, even if humanities was an easier test.

Sounds like a tough choice. The pass rate (for military testing) appears to be 5% higher on the Ethics Test but I don't really trust those rates. They both require knowledge of specific facts so whichever one you take you should be fine as long as you study up on the subject. Neither seem to be regarded as the most difficult. The tradeoff become becomes whether you want 3 upper level credits for Ethics or 6 lower level credits for Humanities.
Not having taken either one I would say it is a toss up for me. Based on my background and passing the Business Ethics and Society DSST, I would probably take the Ethics test. Make sure to let us know how it goes. Good luck (and Merry Christmas).
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.
