So excited to hear that you are enjoying the placement tests! We are slowly rolling them out for various courses because we check the concept mappings and site functionality carefully before release. We will keep you updated on which college courses have placement tests available so that you can take advantage.

We will continue to add the courses with placement tests available to this page as well: Placement Tests and Adaptive Learning | Study.com

Thanks!

Study.com - When I click on Business 111 - Principles of supervision - which is on the placement tests list. I do not get the option to take any placement tests. This is the only one that this has happened with so far. Do you know why this might be?

Yes, great question. We are still testing in placement tests, so they are not available to all users. We plan on rolling them out to all users in the next couple of weeks! Sorry for any inconvenience!

It's pretty cool. I've only answered 13 questions on the Business 104 placement exam and already i'm 13% through the course! There are 30 questions in all and you can stop and come back to the exam at any time... just like an ALEKS assessment

If you've answered 13 questions and attained 13%, assuming that you've been flawless, then this assessments would only get you as far as 30%.

You can take it multiple times and it give you different questions each time so you can go up to 100%

How does one take the placement exam multiple times? I've not seen the option again after the first placement exam.

So, if one is able to take it multiple times and get as high as 70%, which is the required passing grade, does that mean you're done with the course?

70% complete on material and quizzes - but you still need to do a proctored final.

I would not want to go into a final only knowing %70 of the material (or with a %70 grade)

Wanted to post with some clarifying information about how placement exams affect course progress, since people have asked really good questions.
  1. Currently, you can achieve up to 30% course progress through placement tests.
  2. Taking placement tests helps you withcourse progress, but you cannot test out of a proctored final exam or projects. You will still need to complete those regardless of how many placement tests you take.

Thanks!
