Study.com exams

gremlinbrawler Wrote:I just finished the whole course aside from the final and I was just about to take the test today when I saw that they changed the grading. As I went through the course I just made sure that I got 80% on all of the quizzes because that's all I needed but now I'm wondering if I should go back through really quick and get those all up to 100% so that it will be easier to pass the final?
Does that make sense? Or do you think 80% will get me the same points on the quizzes as 100%?
Maybe a dumb question, I don't know. I just don't want to waste the time if it's not going to help. And study.com never answers my questions haha

By my calculations, if you made 80% on all the quizzes, you would need a 65 on the final to pass the course. If you made 100% on all the quizzes, you would need a 55 on the final to pass the course.
I don't know what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future.

Yeah I'm glad they made the change before I took my test. I'm taking Intro to World Religions. It seems pretty easy

The new rule means that your quizzes are worth 1/3 of the final examine grade. That means if you get 100 on all the quizzes you can score 55 on the final examine and you get a pass. If you get 80% then you need to score 65 or higher. Try the final practice examine to see where you score between, and then ask yourself if you need the extra points for help.

Just took the test. I think it went really well. Right before the test started it said that I would need 70% but I think it just hasn't been updated because I talked to customer support and they confirmed that you only need 55% if you get 100% on all quizzes.
I've been using study.com for a while for test prep but that was my first for credit course through them. I had some technical difficulties but the customer support was great and overall I was super happy with it. Much easier than going to take a test, and you are tested on what you already learned in the course. With CLEP tests you just have to hope and pray that you studied for the right stuff.

An update in case anyone was curious. I received my test results in two days. I think I took the test Monday afternoon and got my score Wednesday morning. I got a 93 on the test. I studied for about two weeks and probably 7 actual study days. Less than 15 hours total study time fore sure.
I'm definitely going to go through my next study.com course much less thoroughly and I'm going to take as many of my courses through study.com as possible.
I have a few study strategies for study.com specifically if anyone is interested.

Thanks for all the info. I have been using study.com for a few years now to study for my clep and final exams. I passed sociology, social psychology, earth science, and marketing , and some others thanks to their fun to watch videos. Now that they offer the full courses with credits I definitely will give them a try. I prefer the short videos vs the boring textbooks or long lecture videos that TESU uses. I might actually finish this darn degree with study.com Wink
